How Many Calories Do You Eat?

I eat between 1000-1500 cals per day, depending on my activities that day...

I know that everyone is different... but I read some journals where people are eating 600 cals a day? That seems very low, or are my calories just to high?

I think for a woman you are about right. I tend to eat around 2500 a day sometimes more.

I try to aim for 1500 kcals per day but end up eating on avarage about 1800 kcals. I don't usualy eat less than a minimum of 1300 per day but on bad days when I strugle to curb the cravings I can eat up to 2500 kcals... I find that if I eat less than 1300 I tend to over eat the next day.

the key is to burn more cals then you take in. so if you eat 1500 per day make sure you burn 2000. try to avg. 500 cals def. a day thats a pound per week.

I must have an amazing BMR (NOT), cause I lose weight and I don't have that kind of a deficit. Calories In/Calories out is Bunk. Eat the right foods and you will lose weight! Period!

everyone is different, so you have to find what works for you. I eat no more than 1,300 calories per day and then usually on the weekends I eat a bit more with one day a week being my "spike" day where I try and eat double my calories to give my metabolism a boost! You're not supposed to eat below 1,200 calories because your body cannot get all of its needed calories/nutrients needed to function (RMR).

I eat 1800-1900 a day when I exercise (which is most days). That's enough to give me a deficit and any less than that and I get seriously hungry! I figure the more calories you can eat and still lose weight, the easier it will be to maintain your weight. I also maintain a spike day Smile

Thanks thats all very helpful! I usually have a calorie deficit of 1000 cals, and im loosing weight steadily but very slowly... which can be depressing at times! but i know it took time to gain th weight so it will take time for it to come off.

Thanks everyone! =)
