Well it's time for a new cell phone and I'm upgrading to a smart phone so I can log my food and check out resturants etc. What phone do you have? Does the fat secret app work well? I'm away from my desk at work alot and my work computer is as old as the hills. I want to be able to take pics, check email and use fat secret but it can't be too complicated (I'm not very technical) I have a basic blackberry now and the FS app is ok but it's not syncing back to the website)thanks for any suggestions before I have to go into the Verizon store. (Not against changing carriers either.)

I've been using a Droid for almost two years.. however, I'm up for a new phone in a few months and will probably be going with the Droid Bionic. It's supposed to be released in mid-April, but we'll see about that.

I've used the app on blackberry,iPhone , and Droid.
I started out on blackberry and had no problems with it. It did a syncing with no problem. Only thing it is missing is barcode scanner.

Iphone app I tried on my mothers phone and didn't like it as much. I found entering serving sizes to be different. I don't think it allowed me to put in say .33 worth of say a serving of 9 hershey kisses which makes it 3 kisses. The color scheme is bright tones black text white background with if I remember teal frame. Compared to the white text on black on bb and Droid. IPhone has barcode scanner which is used to find and add things faster.

I now own a Droid Incredible and the app is kinda like a mix of bb and iPhone. You can scan barcodes, can enter any % of food. Have had no problems syncing. Shows pictures of user submitted food items (not sure if iPhone has as I only used it once.

All in all all 3 apps work great, so it really depends on which phone you end up with. And every phone app has had sync issues from what I can tell from forum posts.

Hope this has helped in some way Smile

I have an HTC Desire HD (Android) and the FatSecret app is great. I could not have accomplished this without it.

I have now quadrupled my strength, gained several kilos in muscle mass, and today I focus on building muscle, optimizing my diet, living healthy and helping people to reach the very same goals. samsung epic, period. my mom and girlfriend both have it, i want it and my little brother always steals my mom's. theyre simple to use, but have everything you could ever want or need from a phone. the fatsecret app works awesome on it. i got my mom started usin it. you can even scan barcodes to get the nutrition info that way.
my mom is as technically capable as a neanderthal and if she can use it without any problems im sure you can.
