As far as I'm aware Herbalife is like Forever Living Products, in that you have a shake for lunch, a shake for dinner & a meal in the evening. It might be good to kick start weight loss but probably better to have 3 regular portion controlled or calorie counted meals a day.

I'm all about getting information on alternatives, just make sure you pick a weight loss method & stick with it for at least 3 weeks before switching something up. If you get frustrated too quickly & keep changing what you're doing without giving each method a chance to work, your body will never forgive you.

I tried Herbalife and I just didn't like it so I couldn't stick with it. The shakes really weren't realistic for me at all and then all of the vitamin supplements turned me into a walking fart blossom. I stuck it out for 2 weeks and managed to lose a little bit of weight but I truly wasn't fit to be in anyone's company if you know what I mean!

I enjoyed the Herbalife, lost weight..then gained it back. Everyone is different, depending on what and how you like to eat. I have lost over 70 lbs on Atkins since Jan. 2010. I love my meat. You may have success on Herbalife, it feels good at the time.

The way I see it, the problem with Herbalife and similar systems is that they're temporary weight loss diets rather than lifestyle changes. Even if you did something like Herbalife and lost weight, you wouldn't have learned anything about healthier eating. If you lose the weight then go back to your old habits, at the very best you'll just gain the weight back.
