Something to remember, when you gain weight

Hi everyone.

I am sure that pretty much everyone here feel like I do, when the scale goes UP instead of DOWN. I get annoyed, angry at myself and frustrated, especially if I do not see that I did anything wrong the day before (I weigh in daily). I absolutely hate seeing a higher number on that little hell-machine.

However, when I do gain weight (and I often do) I make sure to go into my weight history to take a good look. Then I realize that my new "high" weight is significantly lower than it was a week or a month ago, and that I am still overall doing great.

What matters is the long term commitment, the continuity. If you did not lose weight today, who cares? As long as you overall lose more than you gain, you will win! Smile

I hope this helps some of you. I know it helped me.

I went from morbidly obese to being the owner of TABDIG - a weight loss coaching service that helps people worldwide losing weight. It's been an amazing journey. From October 4th 2010 to April 3rd 2012 I lost half my body weight - 80 kilos/170 lbs. Since then, I have had two cosmetic surgeries to remove excess skin. I have now quadrupled my strength, gained several kilos in muscle mass, and today I focus on building muscle, optimizing my diet, living healthy and helping people to reach the very same goals. I am stronger, healthier, thinner, happier! If you feel that you need help losing weight, don't hesitate to send me an inbox message.

Thanks for that perspective! I'm worried that I might see a gain this week and I'm really struggling with it. But you're right- its the trend that matters. In addition to weighing less than I did before, I'm also smaller, stronger, and more fit. It's sad how, no matter how many accomplishments we can point to, one bad number on the scale will still make us feel like a failure. But we ARE moving in the right direction and just have to keep at it!

This is totally right. I went through a 45 pound loss 1.5 years ago and every week I would have a little tiny bump up of about 0.5 lbs, and then it would go down again, even lower than the day before! This is only natural water fluctuations-most likely due to humidity and the outside temperature. keep with it guys!
