I tried one of them at a sporting goods store. I stood on it maybe for 3 seconds and had to get off. Went from not having to use restroom at all to running to one. As I said in a post when I mentioned the thing before , it would be great to have in a doctors office when they ask you to pee in a cup and you don't need to go.

Rumor has it they dont really do anything for you, and I, like the previous post, got on and had to get off, it made my head hurt and it was difficult to see.

from what i can tell you just stand on the thing so pretty sure youre not burning calories any faster than you would standing in front of the refridgerator trying to find something to eat...

Great comment Buck. We're all wishing for an easy fix, and companies market to that. Look how many ads for diet pills say "lose weight without exercise". If that were true, we'd all be skinny. The only way to lose weight without exercise is to get sick.

Best I can tell they are really bad for ones joints. I got suckered into a Bally Fitness "free" personal training (sales) session. 10 min of which were spent messing around on this vibration platform. It had all kinds of stuff about "used by NASA"... Anyway after my hip and knees were very sore. Next day my right knee was popping and sore. I took some time to look up the device online (made somewhere in Illinois). Well the vibration frequency is extremely high, many times higher then "NASA" used. I could find nothing good about the frequency's they used...but a lot of warnings and bad experiences. I made a complaint to the manager about their "trainer" sales guy (not about the vibration) but gave the manager a printout of a few studies I found online and told him how it affected me. (I'm going to guess, if you weigh 110lb its probably fine, but if you are like me there probably isn't anything you can do more damaging in that short a time... maybe a plane crash.) Next time I was in they had a sign on the machine about it needing repair. The machines seem to have disappeared, its been a few years since I have seen them. I think the old butt shaker machines at least looked more fun. ymmv

Oh, thank you so much Pixi for the hysterical image that just went through my mind. That was a much needed laugh!
