Last night a new friend and member of my TEAM weight loss class invite myself and another friend from class over to her house to go through her clothes!

I HIGHLY RECCOMEND THIS! Smile

1. It feels good to try on clothes that fit your new body

2. As your body changes it is hard to keep buying new clothes (especially when you aren't at your goal weight)

3. Wearing clothes that actually fit will not only boost your confidence, but make others take notice of the improved you too!

4. It gives the person doing the giving a chance to sit back and reflect at how far they have come too!

So, if you have gone down a size or too, but are still hanging onto your old clothes...keep in mind that the "baggy look" isn't trendy and no, it does not make you look smaller either.

See if there are people you can connect with that you can take part in a clothing swap!

My thanks goes out to Darbo, you making me feel GREAT last night (I am even wearing a "new" shirt today!)

Awesome tips!

Also, it reminds me of this video I made when I hit the 100lbs lost mark:

100lbs later - the clothes!

I completely agree! Every time I move down a size or two I pass clothes on to my sister or my mom. I hope I get to pass a LOT of clothes to them!!! Unfortunately, I don't know anyone who can pass clothes down to me... maybe when I get a lot smaller though!

My good friend gives me all of her old clothes and I give them to my other friend. It is awesome.. I have not had to buy a pair of jeans since May of 2008 when I started at over 280 lbs. So I have not had to buy jeans for over 70 lbs and I have ones waiting in the wings for me to shrink into them. It has been a wonderful gift to me and my friend that I pass things onto also feels the same way.

@Stacie - you are quite welcome! I love passing down things I can wear or use anymore. I am so glad that you and Dora were able to use some of them. I received most of those clothes from my SIL when she was losing her weight.

Do you know anyone that is getting rid of size 8 and 6's???? LOL

I think this is an awesome idea! One of the major problems my clients have is spending on a new wardrobe and usually more then once! It can get costly Smile

@MimiMuffin Loved the video! I'm still too scared to get rid of all my clothes, so they are in rubber maid containers at the top of the closet. My husband didn't mind me buying clothes in a smaller size, but if I ever have to go up again he may not love it so much! Smile

I know what you mean. When I went from size 22 to 10 a couple years ago, I had a big clothes give-away swearing I would never let myself go there again. I gave away everything from 22 to 18 and starting buying all over again when the big melt starting creeping back on. I, too, have the large rubber maids in the garage in addition to two large closets full (plus one at my mom's) of clothes that I can't imagine now I was even wearing such a short time ago. I'm just hoping that after this time, the rubber maids will be packed with the fat clothes and under lock and key and never to be unlocked again.

A couple years ago, a friend of mine lost almost 90 lbs and she ended up giving me some of her old clothes. Then she had a baby and put a lot of the weight back on due to complications with her pregnancy. Now that I'm losing weight, I'm saving my clothes to give back to her (which will include a number of items that she originally gave me!) It's always good when you can find someone to share with. I also love having some hand-me-downs that are a little small, just waiting for that happy day when they fit Smile

She does wish that she'd kept more of her bigger clothes, though, and like sheryl, she's planning on keep them this time around, if only for baby #2. I know they tell you to get rid of the old clothes immediately, but its a sad truth that sometimes, you do need them again.
