I know compared to my before picture, my face does look thinner...but i've had people comment that they're surprised that my face doesn't look thinner than what it is, considering how much weight i've lost so far. Has anyone else had the same thing happen to them? I'm worried i'm going to have this double chin forever!!! Sad

YOu look fantastic, sometimes it is so hard for us to get around our weightloss, I lost a lot once and I felt just as fat as ever even though I was wearing smaller clothes..ended up gaining it all back.

gotta really get your head around how much better you look ..it takes a while I guess (never been thin long enough to know)..but keep trying to see yourself thin..and try not to see any of those old problem areas..just celebrate the new you every day

Lowering my sites for 2011 to losing 1 pound a week or 52 pounds in 2011 having 82 pounds to go I should be 30 pounds from my goal this time next year.

Why anyone would make a comment like that is beyond me.
We are all different, and how we lose weight is no exception. Some lose it in the face first, some last. You look great! And I can see the difference all over, face included.

Ur body decides where you lose first.. just keep it going and it'll get there... i lose weight in my face FIRST... but i also gain it there first too... so its not always great...

I would say your 40 pound loss looks like a lot more than 40! Your loss is great! I think no matter what, there is a sizeable difference. You did very good.

Wow, that's such a rude thing to say. And wrong--because you can see it in your face, as well as the rest of your body (and it does look like you lost a lot more than forty). You look younger and more energetic in your third picture, too, not just slimmer (maybe it's your posture?). You're doing great--keep it up! Smile

You look great! And I agree you look like you lost more than 40lbs. And that's wonderful. One a side note, I had a double chin even when I was skinny, smaller than it is now, but all I can do is thank my mother for it.

Thanks everyone! As far as it looking like i've lost more than 40lbs...this is only a front view, lol. But thanks - I feel good! And I know I shouldn't let other people's comments bother me, and honestly, it's not that it really bothered me all that much - I was just curious if anyone else had a double chin that wouldn't let go! Smile I know mine will eventually, but I just thought it'd be gone quicker. But you're all right about how everyone loses weight in places at different times. I just pray my girls don't lose too much, cause they're small enough already!! LOL Smile

That's where all my weight is coming off at the moment (the girls) it's so sad, can't it come off the hips too?

I did not notice a big change in my face until I got closer to 50 lbs lost. It was weird because I was at 235 and my face didn't look like it had lost anything and then by 225 my face looked A LOT thinner like the last 10 lbs came out of my face. I think it's strange how the body picks and chooses where it wants the weight to come off. Don't worry I bet the next 10-15 you will see a big difference.

I just looked through my old pics and I think I completely lost the double chin around 220 also. Maybe 220 is the magic number Smile

Laughing That’s funny…you are wishing your girls won’t get smaller and I’m wishing & hoping my two chunky monkeys attached to my chest would just get smaller already to give me an overall thinner appearance. I’ve loss 23lbs everywhere else but there, it won’t budge.
I hate it because I had to stay the same size in blouses but pants I went down two sizes. Mentally, I think if they would go down, I think I would see myself differently in the mirror.
Boobs are not what they are “stacked” up to be when you get to be my age. At 50 when they are hitting the ground they are just obstacles in my way, smaller is better. Laughing

BTW…you look fabulous!!! Very Happy

You look amazing and should be so proud of what you have accomplished. There will always be people who feel the need to belittle in snide little ways, I would not spend even a minute of my time worrying about what someone like that has to say or think.

Your body will respond in it's own way to the weight that you lose. Just keep doing what you are doing so well, it's working beautifully for you.
Things that make you go Hmmm....

. If you ate pasta and antipasta would you still be hungry?
. If one synchronized swimmer drowns. Do the rest have to drown too?
. If space is a vacuum, who changes the bag?
. What is another word for Thesaurus?
. Is there an imaginary cure for hypochondria?

Just wondering....

You look great! I basically have the same problem and I call it "having my dad's neck" [good old genetics]. There's basically no space between where my chin finishes and my neck starts. I have a round face regardless of the weight loss.

How mean and counterproductive! You can see the difference and that's the important thing. You've done what many people only talk about doing. You'll loose the double chin eventually. It's a figure type thing.
