Can someone help with this question. I am on Atkins Induction phase, are you supposed to exercise or not?

here's my best understanding...if you were exercising BEFORE starting Atkins, than continue in moderation during the first two weeks. If you were NOT exercising beforehand...than wait out the first two weeks before adding in some regular exercise to your routine.

Remember, this is a life you have time on your side. Once you start, start slowly. Perhaps a dvd at home, walking on a treadmill, or even swimming - all good, and not tooooo overwhelming to the body. Build up your endurance, and then begin adding in toning, and muscle shaping and developing...because muscles will increase your overall metabolism.

Over the last year, I have faithfully worked out 3-4 times a week, every week...pretty much. You don't have to kill yourself doing exercises to see results w/ Atkins. But you don't want to be saggy and loose by the time you near your goal either.

Thanks so much, yes it helps, I had not exercised before going on atkins so I will wait another week.

All you have to do to start is walk. Just walk. You don't have to walk fast or far, just so long as it's consistently for at least 20 minutes. I started Atkins almost a month ago and was moderately active, so I pumped it up a bit, but all I did was go out and walk for 20 minutes a day. Now, a month later, I'm jogging a mile. You can do it! I tell myself, "slow and steady loses the weight". Good luck!
