I was wondering when I journal doing Zumba where would I place it or call it in my journal. It is 45 minutes of sweating. Do you know how many calories are burned?

Hi!
I currently do Zumba and I record it as Dancing (fast). When you record it in your excercise journal, it will calculate the calories burned.

So how do you guys like Zumba? I am really wanting to try it but have what I like to call a little coordination problem. I would be totally embarassed if I fell or somethingSmile Do you need a lot of coordination?

I love Zumba. The teacher that teaches Zumba tells us not to worry if we don't get the correct moves, just continue to move. We have such a large group that you don't have time to notice anyone else. I have very little coordination. I am always counting the steps out loud. I know 1 2 3 4. If I can remember that I seem to do ok. Not great but ok.

There are tons of things I do all day (housework specifically) that I am very curious about. The exercise journal on this site is helpful, but I doubt that it is really accurate. There are too many variables when doing something like housework, Zumba, running, playing sports, etc.

I was thinking about getting one of those watches that tracks heart rate and calories burned. Has anyone tried these? What is a reliable brand?

Elly, I just got a GoWear Fit, which is similar to the BodyBugg. I wear it 23 hrs a day & it tells me how many calories I burn doing EVERYTHING...I love it! I've only been wearing it for a few days but already I have learned so much about how effective my workouts are & how many of my calories are burned by other things like grocery shopping & housework. If you're serious about tracking your deficits & the online tools aren't accurate enough for you, I highly recommend it. From what I've read about this thing it's at least 90% accurate & I have no reason to believe otherwise...i.e. I'm continuing to lose. After I get a full week or so of data I'll post a more thorough analysis in my journal. Stay tuned!

I love that quote, Kat! There is no such thing as cheating--only choices. Awesome! Yes, I would love to hear how your arm band works (how accurate it is). I looked it up online and it's about half the price of Body Bugg!! At least the last time I checked Body Bugg...
