I just ate two slices of pizza. I inhaled them I was so desperate. Now I feel like a fat jerk.

Aww don't feel like a fat jerk! Don't give food enough power to change your feelings about yourself. Just try to do better next time!

Don't deny yourself treats if you find you're going to ravage them when you do get the opportunity Razz Allow yourself some treats every once in a while so you don't feel so desperate, it'll keep you on track more than totally denying yourself anything unhealthy Smile Just work it into your RDI! 2 slices? Puhleeze. If you were really going to binge, you should have had the whole pie! You're fine! Have a piece of pizza once in awhile. No harm. Just work it into your plan by eating healthier around it or adding more exercise! no biggie.

You are NOT a fat jerk! Please repeat that to yourself several times and then remember that you're a good person. Please.

Also - even with the 2 slices of pizza, you were WAY below your RDI counts for that day, so I see no problem at all.

Getting into a healthy eating lifestyle and losing weight at a slow but steady pace that will yield permanent results is NOT a penance, a punishment, or a prison sentence. You are a young and vibrant person filled with endless possibilities in life, not a jerk at all.

You're fabulous. Don't ever forget that.

I second what Domo said.
DISCLAIMER: I expect to lose this weight over the next 6 months to 5 years. I'm not going to feel like a failure if it takes an entire month to lose 1 pound. I'm going to feel like a success when that happens! I may offer advice that I'm currently not taking myself. Feel free to call me on that!

sooki - I love your 'disclaimer'. I also won't give a fig newton (or ten) if I only lose a pound a month. That's one pound less, and not the 5 pounds more I'd have if I'd kept eating the way I was. A glorious victory to be sure.

You know I read the thread title and was all ready to provide some butt kicking motivation. And then I read your post! That changed everything! I eat pizza all the time! It is one of my favs! I just make sure I account for what I eat in my other food choices and exercise for the day! Don't beat yourself up over 2 slices. You are more likely to stick to your healthier lifestyle if you don't deny yourself everything all the time!

I am with everyone else on this...don't beat yourself up. And no matter which diet you're on, you shouldn't deny yourself the things you love. The task is to learn how to enjoy those things in moderation. I try not to view my diet as being full of restrictions, but more so a different range of choices that I need to start picking from. I keep a bag of chocolates in my desk (I like Dove!) & treat myself to one once or twice a week...they are just big enough to satisfy the sweet tooth without causing a guilt trip. And sometimes I go weeks at a time without dipping into my stash, lol.

If I were way into pizza I might start making my own pizzas at home so I could experiment with toppings to invent a lower cal version of my fave. Smile

Ate a quarter of a bag of Doritos today.. And made myself a huge burrito with lots of ground beef and cheese and sour cream. The stuff was just just sitting there begging me to eat it. I scarfed it down.

I'd had sort of a crappy day. I walked around later for an hour or two looking for apartments for rent in my neighborhood, though, and it made me feel better.

Gonna get an apartment totally out of my price range ^_^ yayy because it's beautiful and like 2 blocks from the University and work
I will be good!

If anyone wants to kick me in the butt right now it would be greatly appreciated. I had intended to work out tonight but instead I've been sitting on the sofa half napping half internet surfing. Not even doing homework.

Tomorrow is a new day. Go to sleep and get back on track in the morning. The fact you're telling someone (even if it's on a website)is a good step in the right direction.

Thanks again, everyoneSmile kstubble-I wish I had your will power-I can't keep sweets in the house or I'll eat them, I have no self control when it comes to stuff like that-if it isn't here, I have no problem. But If I have a bag of chocolates I can't allow myself one or two a week. I end up dipping into it ALL stinkin day! Mad

Lol ELePinnet...don't give me too much credit. Yes, I can resist chocolate cuz it's not really my "thing," but if a box of donuts or some Ben & Jerry's make it into the house, they ain't comin out alive.

No no you aren't doing it wrong! OMAD is just fine as long as it's sustaining you and your energy needs. I'm saying to only have maybe one cheat meal for one of your OMAD meals per week. ...
