Figured it would be motivating to have people talk abt things they do that motivates them while they are working out not to stop till they reach or pass their expectations.....I'll Start....

My expectations: I expect to work out for 1hr a day on the treadmill.....anything past an hr is considered a bonus....I also expect to do at least 4miles within that hour

What Gets Me 'Not Stopping Till I Get Enough?

1)GOTTA HAVE MY IPOD!!! IT IS SOOOOO CRUCIAL.....I SOOO CANNOT WORK OUT WITHOUT IT Very Happy

2)Turn on the TV(on mute) on MTV Music Channel and also watch music videos

3) Sigh! This One might be awkward to some LOL.....But I have a copy of Sports illustrated Swimsuits edition on my treadmill and I keep it open to a model on the beach (She CANNOT be skinny lol, has to be nicely toned and lok healthy LOL) then i look at it all thru my work out and imagine myself at my goal weight....on the beach....LOOKING FAB LOL Very Happy

4)I try to let my mind wander, I think things through, I talk to God and I just try to figure out things while I am working out. This doesnt allow me to focus on the annoying thought (Is it an 1hr yet?).....by the time my mind starts to come back to what I am doing I am slightly over an hr.....

Well, thats mine.....oh and I also remind myself that according to God "I am fearfully and Wonderfully made..." I am already Beautiful....I just want to be healthier....

MAINLY: I TRY TO BE REALISTIC WITH MY SELF....I AM NOT ATTEMPTING A 2 MONTH WEIGHT LOSS PLAN....I HAVE TO BE ABLE TO KEEP THIS GOING SO IF DOMETHING DOESNT SEEM LIKE SOMETHING I CAN KEEP UP WITH EVEN A YR FROM NOW......THEN I AM NOT INTERESTED....LOL

PS: I chose this title cuz its one of the songs on my ipod that pushes me on the treadmill hehehe

With that being said, WHAT GETS YOU NOT STOPPING TILL YOU'VE GOT ENOUGH?

That song is on my workout mix too! Smile What motivates me is my visualized future self. I think a lot about how I will feel and how I will look when I reach my goal. Sometimes I don't even need my iPod when working out when I'm doing this visualization. I also pray before and during my workout. My body must be in proper order to serve and that is a BIG motivation to me. Another thing that I do, which I admit is weird. I have to go on a treadmill directly behind someone...so I never pick a treadmill that it's in the 1st row of treadmills. I must be behind someone that is running. They usually look really fit and I imagine I'm on a track with them, just a few steps behind, no matter how fast they're actually going, lol. I fix my eyes on a spot on the back of their head and just run/walk, all the while visualizing my future self and praying. Smile

Mine too! But my favorite MJ is The Way You Make Me Feel Smile

Other music that energizes me: 80's Whitney Houston and Janet Jackson. How Will I Know? is probably my fav. workout song.

But if I'm in an angry mood, then I take my aggression out on the workout and for that I like to listen to Eminem Smile

I need music to get me going! I listen to Beyonce on the stairclimber and step to the beat and I'm sure everyone thinks I'm nuts! But I don't care!!

I like to seek out pictures of healthy women to look at too! I especially like Crystal Renn, she's like my body double. So hot, at 170 pounds. Love her. Or Serena Williams. Hot.

If I feel like hopping off a machine I put on Christina Aguilera "FIGHTER" on repeat and it can keep me going an extra half hour! I have never cared for her very much, but that song is so true to so many people in my life...it works for me!

Britney Spears 'Stronger'- does it for me every time.

There's a few Korn songs that my hubby demanded that I put on there, but I can't remember the names at the moment.

I'm so sad though, my ipod crashed and burned 3 miles into the last half marathon I ran in, back in April. Haven't had the money to buy a new one. Sad So I supplement with HBO ondemand when I'm running at home.

My gym has a strict 30 minute time limit on cardio equipment, and you have to sign up as well, so thinking in 30 minute incriments helps me as well. I know if I'm struggling on one machine it won't be long till I have to move on to something new.

I run (outside) with my son. What makes the time fly for me is listening to him talk about all the different things happening in his life (even if I have to listen to Pokemon jibberjabber)! Anyone who has a little boy know that is it like pulling teeth to find out anything going on in there life, so our run time is my favorite time! Very Happy When I am on the elliptical, I watch movies and television shows. Make the time fly and I can't watch the counter!

regina spektor apres moi, bjork hunter, fiona apple...bitchy angry music makes me keep going. However, I have to stop myself from singing while running. EbonySparkle ipods love to crash at the gym, it pisses me off 2, it has happened to me and my workout suffers. Music is what keeps me sane; Music is what feelings sound like. ~Author Unknown

My gym has the Cardio Cinema now, so that keeps me entertained and not thinking about the time. I ran for 20 min on the Elliptical then 20 min on the treadmill today-my goal was 20/20, but I felt like quitting after 20/10...but I kept going! Sometimes I have to kick in my own motivation. Self competition helps-"I have to at least meet last weeks time", or "hey I can pass it up by 5 minutes", lol.

when im on the eliptical machine, and im thinking of stopping, i tell myself i can get to a certain calorie burned number, like if im at 260 i have to get to 275, then i tell myself i have to end on an even number of mins. i also tell myself, if the next song is a good one, i will stay on the machine until the song is over.
for music i use my phone, i havent done a work out playlist yet, so i just skip boring songs.

i really like the idea of getting on the machine behind someone so you can "keep up" with them. the elipticals are in the front row though, and i have a hard time with the tredmills.
i do pick one by the door, i tell myself that more people will see me and i want to impress the skinny fit people.
i do like harajuku girls by gwen stephani for my workout.

For me, it is all about the music videos. My treadmill has speakers so I just plug in my iPod and watch my downloaded music videos or my YouTube playlists. When I'm just listening to music it will usually be some disco and I'll imagine myself slim and dancing it up on Soul Train. Sometimes I end up singing along and dancing with my arms, haha. It sounds crazy but it really gets me motivated.
It's going to be a long and hard road but I am prepared to do it and I am determined to do it.
