Upset stomach...

I have been on Atkins for about 10 days and I have been experiencing an upset stomach/nausea during the past week.

I generally have a pretty sensitive stomach, but it has been much worse than usual. I am thinking maybe it is from eating lots of fatty meats (beef, bacon, salami, etc). I might try cutting down on those.

Is this happening to anyone else? Any advice?

I find meats with Nitrates, like bacon, pepperoni, and salami etc can make me feel sick to my stomach.
You may want to cut these out and see if thats the case.
I haven't noticed it when I buy nitrate free products.
There are nitrate free meats alot of places now....Trader Joes for one!

Low sodium broth helped me--I wasn't really nauseous, just weak and light headed.
They call it the "atkins flu"
If you go to the atkins diet bulletin board, you can find lots of threads on symptoms and how to treat them...

A soother...One can swanson's chicken broth, boil with a piece of fresh ginger (ginger helps nausea and funky feelings), add a little green onion, a dash of seasame oil, then wisk an egg and drizzle into soup... egg drop soup. The best and calms the nerves.
