I used to love to exercise, and I want to run again, but I am too embarrassed and uncomfortable to try at my size.

I thought I would try wii fit. Is it fun? Effective?....Super dumb question, but I have heard that it creates an avatar based on weight. If my husband does it too...will he see my posted weight? Will he see my avatar?
Basically, can I have any privacy on it?

Any wii fit advice would be greatly appreciated.

Wii Fit is great. Wii Fit plus is now being sold, even better.

LOL...yes, no matter how you build your avatar in the normal game, it does give more of a representation of your body size on the avatar..not quite as bad..but bigger than you build the avatar. On normal games it doesn't do that.

Also, you can lock down the stats on your avatar, so your hubby can't see the stats(weight). I'm 250#s, 5'3. If I were to guess the weight of my avatar, I'd say 180.

Also, I've heard GREAT things about Wii Active..I'll be trying that after Christmas.

I love Wii Fit! We have Wii Fit and Wii Plus, plus Wii Sports was included as part of the Wii Package. Plenty of activities to keep anyone happy. As previous poster mentioned, you can keep your stats private.

Thank you for your quick responses. As silly as it sounds, I am glad that I can have some privacy. What is Wii active? I hope Wii Fit Plus isn't too hard to find. Now that I am so excited about it I want to find it!

I've played before and it's so much fun! I'd love to own one but they are too expensive for me.

Wii Active is a lot more hardcore than Wii fit. Wii fit is more fun, working out but still has a light game feel. Wii Active is more like having a personal trainer.

I love my Wii fit. It's been a big help for me. And, if you have kids, they will love it too. Mine play it all the time and it's great way to keep THEIR activity up during the winter months.

Change rest time
Enter other activity, as exercise. This includes sitting, standing, watching TV, shopping, housework. As you enter these, the time under Rest will automatically go down.
