Snacking late at night

I am having a hard time trying not to snack at night, especiallly after 9:00 p.m.
Any suggestions.

Are you snacking because you are truly hungry or just looking for something to do? If I am truly hungry after 8 pm, I usually grab a piece of low fat cheese or even some yogurt and I still find myself hungry for breakfast.

i make sure i drink water at night while i'm watching tv, and also chew gum so that i'm not just mindlessly throwing food in my mouth out of boredom.

I have a hard time too with the late-night snacking. I am trying to plan ahead and include a snack in my calorie count for the day since I know myself and it's bound to happen, why not plan for it? It worked beautifully yesterday and it definitely took "the charge" off of having the snack - it wasn't a sneaky forbidden act. Made a difference for me.

I try to drink a cup of Camomille tea. It is supposed to help you sleep.

I read somewhere that if you will go ahead and brush your teeth right after your last meal, and make it a routine to go ahead and do it as soon as you get done eating, it will start to become a habit not to eat again.

I usually drink water after about 9:00. It keeps down my urge to snack before bed

If you get up very early (I get up and go to the gym around 5:45 am) then you are too tired to even be up around 9 will just want to sleepSmile Trust me, that works.

Having a cup of tea helps too.
