What has been your experience with Intermittent Fasting

There have been all kinds of new studies lauding this way of eating, not only for weight loss, but also for a potential against alzheimer's, MS, diabetise.

One of my main questions is: Do you get over the hunger. I've started two days ago (16:Cool I'm hoping my body will get accustomed to it.

Please do tell of your pros and cons!

I do the 18:6 some days a week. Since I do keto there is a natural appetite suppressor present and I do not struggle at all. Some days I may have some hunger and then I just have a snack and break the fast. I will probably also do some 20:4. I have done those before.

Pro is that it does cut down on food
Con is that if you are not careful you can end up gorging for your fast breaking meal and eat too much

I've been doing the 5:2 (5 days of normal eating, 2 days of 600 kcal in one meal only) for a few years now. Dunno if that's comparable to what you're doing, but I get hungry in bursts of maybe 20 minutes every couple of hours. It got easy to ignore very quickly, though.

I did it until got to goal, did the 6:1. Found I was not hungry on fasting day, like my brain knew I would not starve! What helped most for me was not eating after 3 or 4pm. It is like whatever you eat at night you will be weighing next a.m. So I do still following that part, all foods done by 5pm at lastest. This plus the WFPB keeps me below WW goal, below my intermediate goal, now almost back to my ultimate goal! Definitely research continues to show it is good for your health. Also, good to allow your body to feel hunger, to me to feel the pain that many in the world feel everyday.

Milk
Milk has a lot of lactose... So that does it. You can lower calories by choosing lower fats. a cup of skim will have about 60 fewer calories than a cup of whole milk
