Hi ladies, I'm also 58 years old and have been trying to lose weight as long as I can remember. I need a buddy. I'm a stress eater and I need to lose at least 50 lbs. I am starting here at the referral of a friend. I have no idea how to start but here I am. So far today I feel like I've hardly eaten anything and I have reached my calorie intake for the day and it's only 3:20. This is going to be tough...I am 5'7 weighing in at 199.5

Giving up those sweets is the hardest! It is impossible for me to just have a taste. So I have to go completely sugar and grain free as those are my "go to" foods, especially when stressed. I just started Keto and have had no cravings for the sweets. I even have the Halloween candy sitting here and I've resisted all week. I'm here to be a cheerleader if you need one!

Hello everyone, I'm new to this site. I started my new journey yesterday and it's been a struggle but I've kept to it. I'm a 54 year old female, 5'4" that is trying to drop 75 pounds. I just like to eat everything it seems (lol). Seriously though, I lost 70 pounds back 3 years ago and i have slowly put it back on. I'm scared that if I don't get serious and lose it, i'll end up being a diabetic. I love chocolate, and of course bread. I guess you could say i don't have the best eating habits but I'm trying.

Hi everyone, I'm at a little older than you all (64) but our situations all seem similar! I'm 5'3" and would love to lose 50 pounds although 30 or 40 would put me in a more normal range. I have tried low-calorie (always hungry and thinking about food), Vegan (eventually I want an egg or piece of chicken or fish plus if you do it correctly, you aren't allowed any oils), and low carb. I like low carb because it brings my hunger under control yet I find it hard to stick to it for the long term. I tend to bounce back and forth from low calorie to low carb and I don't ever get anywhere. However, I'm going to try low carb again just because it feels so good to be more in control of my hunger ad my eating. One of my challenges is dinner time with my thin husband. He has to have lots of food and even double starches at dinner just to keep his weight up. Having all that around at that time of the day is difficult but I have to do it anyway. I will be here to support all of you in any way I can!

Hi DonnaGee, I’m 65 and have tried every diet in the world. I used to be skinny until I hit menopause at age 52. Since then, it’s been the “battle of the bulge” ever since. I lost my husband in an auto accident in 2010, lost a lot of weight and was looking pretty good. Got remarried three years ago and have put all the weight back on. It’s so tough having to feed someone like our husbands! Mine is good with his weight and eats like a bird most of the time.
I have found that Keto is best for me as long as I keep the veggies really high on my list and not get lost in the fats and proteins! I need to lose about 50-60 pounds. Also I find walking on the treadmill daily helps just to keep my spirits up. When I move, I don’t beat myself up so much for being sedentary. My problem is I eat emotionally and at 2:30-3:00 pm everyday, I get a horrible craving for chips and salsa! 😳😳 I could use any support I can get! I live in the Houston area and would love a diet buddy!
Yours truly,
Wanda

Hi ladies. I tell anyone who will listen about this, because for the past decade (since menopause began and I gained 55 lbs) I couldn't get it off. I did low carb for a while and that worked okay, until it stopped. I tried intermittent fasting and that didn't work either until July of this year when I stumbled upon a book called Delay, Don't deny. I'm 18 lbs down now since July. I was counting calories at first and am eating more than I was before...a lot more. Now I don't count calories, and don't exercise, although I know I should, and I eat whatever I want. I do try to keep nutrition in mind, but if I want a piece of cake or pie (I'm a passionate baker) I have it. I know I sound like a commercial trying to sell you something, but I have no interest other than wanting to help others because I know that frustration. Another good book to read is The Obesity Code. This is an easy lifestyle for me and it has literally energized me. There is also a fantastic Facebook support group. Cost nothing at all, except the book if you do decide to read it, but you don't have to. The FB group is DelayDontDeny.

I just started here today. I would like to connect with others, same issues; Menopause, weight gain out of control, i feel miserable. I want to read those books! Thank you for suggesting them. Is the FB group for Delay Don't Deny private or closed?
