Hey! I'm new here and I'm just looking for someone to talk to sometimes about diets and weight loss. I'm 5'2", 102.5 lbs (as of April 19th) and hoping to get down to 98 lbs, or maybe even 93 lbs eventually. If you have similar stats, or just want to talk, feel free to shoot me a message! Smile

Hi Lily, you are already at perhaps the very lowest reasonable weight for your height, and the weights you are aiming to get to are therefore not very healthy at all.
I really think you should focus on why you aren't yet happy with your physical shape and if there is a mild interest in 'better tone' or 'targeted exercise' then that's really up to you to support your ambitions with effective diet and exercise (to maintain weight whilst reshaping/re-toning etc - though why you need to worry about shape and tone I'm not entirely sure) - but if there is a frantic urgency about your wishes for change/loss then really you should be trying to question your influences - it is difficult to see why you can't just be happy as you are clearly already perfectly healthy. Good luck.

I am 5,2, and i've never in my life weighted 102lbs. I would have been too skinny as a youth and as an adult, even with small bones. You don't need weight loss, you need to seek counselling because you're playing with your health. Don't go down a path you'll dearly regret. Too much is as bad as not enough. And not enough is as bad as too much. Take care of yourself.

Went to a website for ideal weight for a female of 5'2" and here is what it shows for a 25 year old. "Based on the healthy BMI recommendation, your recommended weight is 101.1 lbs - 136.7 lbs"

The fact that you never weighed that little has nothing to do with the OP. Besides, weight is just a number, the mirror shows the real tale and if that is a current shot in her avatar, she looks fine.

You may be right! And, she looks absolutely great. My worry is that she wants to go down to 93 lbs. That is a sure sign that there is something wrong.

Hey Lily- Old post but here goes:
I have a close friend matching your statistics. Her weight has varied from 108 down to 94 up to 132 down to 108 again in the years I have known her. We trained together for a while and got in the habit of weighing together. She does not try to lose, but she got a job that was more than she was physically built for at a local fiberglass plant, then lost weight until she finally quit. Then she had a baby and gained weight. That gradually dropped off since she has worked at another factory, which recently started the same extreme hours (72, occasionally 84 hours/wk) and she was dropping weight quickly again until she quit last week. She looked good at all weights, including 98 pounds, until she reached 94, at which point she looked emaciated and sick. I don't think her skeleton weighs much. I weigh 2.4 times her weight and am eight inches taller but she routinely eats as much as I can (see: Hardee's Monster Burger Combo upsized).

Hi Lily, You are perfect & too many others who only but wish to be your weight are really in a struggle. Be careful where you end up it might not be good going there. We say this in a concerning way.

That sounds a little thin to me. You are already at the bottom of your healthy BMI range. Concentrate on the health aspects of your life, not the physical. At that weight, I'm sure you already look great!
