Did you work out your recommended daily calorie allowance carefully? It all depends on your sex, age, height, current weight, and activity level.
For instance, at my age, 73, height of 5 ft, 60 kg weight and sedentary lifestyle, it works out that to lose weight I need to only eat 1000calories a day. As one loses weight the less calories one has to eat to continue losing!

I'm sorry if this sounds obvious, I don't mean for it to sound that way, but are you weighing your food? I find that the difference between weighing mine versus using a measuring cup can be way, way different. (pun...sorry)

Or, maybe, it could just be one of "those" weeks when you do things right but they go wrong anyway. Either way, Good luck this week, Rambler.

You are not eating enough! Your body knows that if you are under eating it will store calories as fat which will make you gain weight. Your body goes into shock when it is taking in too little calories.

Do some research on the internet. Find your BMR. From that number, calculate how few calories you can eat before your body goes into starvation mode. Depending on your CW you could be putting your body into starvation mode, even with 1500 calories. Also, when are you eating? How much are you eating? Scientists say that the body needs between 4-6 small meal a day. I personally eat around 100-200 calories every two hours from 7 am (the time I get up) and 7 pm (its best not to eat after 8 pm). Make sure you are drinking at least 64 oz. of water daily, this will greatly aid in your weight loss. A little trick I like to do is drink 8 oz of water before each small meal. This also helps you feel fuller.
I hope this helped! If you have any questions, feel free to message me!

1. No such things as starvation mode, unless your malnourished at 4% body fat.
2. Eating carbs in the morning is the only thing that has an effect on "when" you eat, as hormonal response is highest and most sensitive in the morning.
3. There is no benefit to eating multiple small meals. To think that your metabolism is so sensitive that it cannot go a few hours without food is absurd. We are hunter gatherers, we operate on the same body physiology as we did thousands of years ago, then and now we can easily go many hours without intake of food. It's why we store use at times when there is no food available.
4. There is no benefit to drinking 64oz of water...the 8 glasses of 8oz was busted long...long ago, but still persists. You need to drink to be hydrated, that's it. Water and a few Almonds before meals will help get that full feeling sooner.

I think different diets work differently on different body types because I have lost 20 pounds in two months using the advice I just gave.

Thanks , I had posted this quite some time ago but in a word format and I don't think many took the time to read it....

As for starvation mode.... complete BS, read the studies and talk to a holocaust victim....

As for grazing vs eating 3 meals a day,, do what works for you! Our lifestyles have changed and so we have to do it too. But eat the right foods.

and as someone else posted this BS of you must drink 8 glasses of water a day? really, no scientific evidence anywhere to prove that theory, drink what you need for your lifestyle. If you go to the gym or walk or work out then drink accordingly to your output. I basically drink when I can based on the proximity of a toilet !Laughing

The other BS is that as a female you must eat 1200 calories a day! lol, who came up with that? Don't believe everything you read on a Google search!

I use this site

it's a baseline but as my weight changes so does my daily intake. but then some days I eat less, some days, more, its the average at the end of the week that counts.

At 60 I'm now more concerned about WHAT I put in my body as opposed to how much. I eat 0 processed, 0 fast foods, nothing that has no nutritional value to me and it has made such a difference.

I encourage everyone to think in the long term of health and happiness and weight loss is the great side effect of those choices....
