I try to walk 45 minutes a day. I enjoy the outdoors usually...when dogs aren't chasing me around my neighborhood. I've recently began doing the mini work outs On Demand on my digital cable and am really feeling the "burn"...this means it's working right? However...I need something more. I don't have the money for a gym membership or weights or any fancy equipment...does anyone have any suggestions for me? A exercise DVD collection maybe that I can switch up every once in a while so I won't get bored??? I'd love your input!!!

this might sound a little odd, but theres an old Jane Fonda workout tape that i just absolutely love! also -this isnt exactly a workout plan- but i know people who inbetween TV commercials they take a deck of cards and the top card that they flip up is how many pushup/situps they do. something else i used to do the first time i did southbeach -- tae-bo. its so much fun; which is something i never say about workingout. LOL Very Happy i hope this helps.

Yoga tapes are really good too. You don't think you're working really hard until you're done and all you're muscles burn and you're covered in sweat. They also stretch you out really well, which helps with tight muscles and tension headaches.

I'm not sure if I could even do yoga. It looks complicated.

Go to your local library and check out their selections. That's what I do and I've found I like the dance workouts. I've done a Salsa one and one called dancing off the inches. They're fun and really do work you.

I went to wal mart looking for tae bo and found something new by Billy Blanks...called the Boot Camp Workout...it's alot like tae bo...I wasn't sure if I could do it, but, I popped it in the DVD player as soon as I got home and man does it get my heart rate up and make me sweat. But it's fun!!!! I recommend this to everyone...I'll let ya know how it goes...

Also on Lifetime Channel there is a hardcore workout at 7:30 am called "My Workout". I prefer Denise Austin at 7 am on lifetime. She changes the workout daily and if you have a DVR or Tivo this is a great way to fit the workout into your schedule.

I made a post over on "When you don't have weights and can't afford the gym" listing a number of things you can do without a gym or weights. I don't wanna spam by reposting over here. Check it out Very Happy

At Target they have a jumprope that comes with a DVD and audio cd. I know jumprope sounds a little 3rd grade. .. but its pretty low impact (i dislocated my knee cap back in Feb, so low impact is my #1 goal) and its a change from the norm. I do it outside at night -- gives me a chance for fresh air and not dying from knee pain, etc.

Another great thing is Craigs List. Keep an eye out for whatever equipment you might be looking for. I found my elliptical there. After checking back every day for a few weeks I found a Space Saver Elliptical listed for $300 and I bought it from the guy for $260. It was new in the store for $500. He had only used it a few times and it has worked great.
