First of all, I exercise almost everyday. I try to eat clean and control the calories intake within 1500 cals. However, I still gained weight when I weighed in today. I don't know what is the problem, because I drink tons of water as well. Do you guys think it's because I'm growing muscles? So frustrated every time when I see the weight goes up.

stop looking at the scale... it is a distorded view of the truth, specially for people like you and me who work-out a lot! water/ salt/ hormones/ weather/ bowlmovements/ gas/ muscl-ache are all factors that influence your weight day to day. Make an aim and focus on reaching that aim. if you like working out, the best aim is some achievement or another. If losing weight is your aim, slow down the work-out to mainenance level and reduce the calories accordingly.

Search for an old post 'WHY THE SCALES LIE' and have a read and stop feeling so bad.

Thanks guys. I really shouldn't weigh in every single day because the weight drives me nuts. I guess it would be best for me just to weigh in once per week.

I've been on maintenance now for nearly a year. I average my weight over a week's time frame. It normally fluctuates daily between 128 and 132. It's no big deal. Don't stress over those little ups and downs. Mummydee's article is a good one. I know mine will be up a bit tomorrow, I pushed my workout today so my muscles will be in recovery and retaining fluids. So tomorrow is no strength training but will do some cardio so my muscles have a day to heal.

That's really helpful, thanks! I know everyone kept telling me to focus on body fat instead of my weight. I love working out so I guess sometimes the weight gained is from my muscle; I shouldn't think too much.

After my latest 10 day 82 kg plateau I decided to only look at the scales every 7 days or so.

However, I still weigh in every day, I just don't look at the display. My scales record every day's weight (along with fat/water/muscle content which is very unreliable anyway) in internal memory so I still can download the table when I want to Smile

Omgggg, that scale is awesome! Mine doesn't do that, or else that would satisfy the eager of weighing in every day, but not having to see the weight every day at the same time.

Remember, muscles weigh more than fat. If you workout daily the muscle will come. Your weigh changes from morning to night. Also keep in mind, water has weight too.
