When intermittent fasting is it ok to have coffee with coconut oil during the fasting phase? I thought I had read that somewhere but now can't find it.

Good morning. Yes, you can have coffee with coconut oil. I do it daily with much success. That is the only thing I have before noon every day. Some studies even indicate that eating the Medium Chain Triglycerides in coconut oil actually help you burn body fat more efficiently during the fasting phase. Enjoy! Bill

Check out Bulletproof Coffee. That's the actual protocol. MCTs and butter.

I should have noted that it's important to understand that coconut oil is not really an MCT, though. It's probably mostly C12 and better. Still, it's highly available and cheap.

Going to try drinking coconut oil tomorrow. I'm concerned because I haven't checked out the calories or fat content (I will after this). I'm wondering how much I should drink. I have to have my coffee. That's the one thing I can't live without. LOL.

You Might try this..which is what I do..I was useing the whole Bulletproof, have cut my fat by just having( 1 tablespoon cocoanut oil, a little liquid stevia, 1/2 cup of almond milk which I heat and I add a little coffee "blend"Wink then add more hot coffee in my cup to mixture. It's very good I'm doing w/w and window to eat is 12pm to 6pm..nonthing after 6pm.
I had been on HFLC but, after 8 weeks I miss my fruit and need something more flexible. I only lost 12 lbs.. in 8 weeks..I've done w/w before I know it works..and is a flexible plan..I might add some people just have to cut their calories i'm one of those people .not very active.working on that;O)
