low carb eating

I am trying to start the low carb diet, i have gone on Atkins site,but am not to good with computer, and finding it a little hard finding what i need to do. I would like a buddy to help me on my way, I have at least fifty pounds to lose. I even have difficult time trying to get back to someone that has mailed me on this site.

Walmart sells a book by Colette Heimowitz called The New Atkins Made Easy for under $14.00. You don't need a computer or need to be computer savvy to follow this diet - The book is my "bible". You will find a wealth of information, menus, allowed food lists for different phases on the weight loss journey, recipies - but best of all, you will understand how the body reacts to carbohydrates, how it burns fat,and in turn, why this diet primarily focuses on limited carbs to achieve weight loss and improve blood profiles. I think this is the best Atkins book yet! Definitely worth reading over and over until you understand why and what to eat.

Yes, I am on a low Carb diet too! I find that not eating anything white, does the trick! I still like my fruits though! I wish you much success with your diet! Smile Ann

I am not having any sugar or sweets watching my carbs, haven't added any fruits yet as i haven't lost enough weight. It does seem slow ,compared to what other people say. I tend to eat the same thing, I have a Atkins cookbook, but don't find anything i can make. They call for so many things i don't have or don't know where to get, and i am not going to spend a lot of money on special things. I occasionally buy Atkins meals, so far most are good, but shows how little we should really be eating.

allieree, its hard to help you if we can't see what you're eating. I know you said you're not too good on the computer or navigating the site but maybe you could post somethere here to let me know what you're eating.

Here's an example of what I eat every day and I do keep it simple.

1 egg, 1 slice of bacon, rooibos tea

1 pc protein= 4 oz of chicken or fish, 1 or 2 cups of salad withlime juice or 1 cup any veggie that is green, (stay away from corn carrots or any others that are high in sugars)

almost same as lunch, or I also like homemade soups or stews

1 - 2 oz cheese along with a slice of meat , roll up cheese inside with a dollop of mustard, or 1/2 an avocado in the meat or raw veggies with some creamy dip. Berries or jello with whipped cream.

I am in maintenance and have been for quite a while, i've also added in smoothies so i include yogurt and berries with my veggies and drink it.

So post here what you eat and it doesn't really matter if its breaky /lunch/ dinner etc, its the total of the whole day that matters.

Hopefully we can see then what might be stalling you in your weight loss.

If it is a plant, eat it, if it comes from a plant, don't!

Yes, I am on a low Carb eat less carbs as well! I find that not consuming anything white, does the trap! Regardless I like my organic products however! I wish you much accomplishment with your eating routine!

Hmmm. I have mine set up to automatically accept follow requests. Perhaps if you go into Settings and change your preference to automatically approve follow requests it will allow those you have to go ...

Im hanging in there but have read about someone losing 77lb in 3 months. I just wonder how that was done. Mine looks miserable compared to that.
