Hello Everyone.

Peri or Menopause Symptoms.

Hot Flashes, Confusion, weight gain or arrested metabolism, erratic sleep patterns, general tiredness.

These Hot flashes are driving me nutso. Especially in the high humidity.

Have any members found good tricks to help manage any of these symptoms?

(I know that in some countries, there is no word for menopause. What gives?)

Please provide info on strategies and products that you endorse through your own experience and not only read about. Or info on things that you've tried but didn't help!

Have a read up on this BHRT

There are many natural ways to help you through the symptoms but we're all individuals and so need different aids and please don't let your dr prescribe a 'one size fits all HRT" If you decide to try bioidentical hormones they even need to be adjusted as you go through the years.

Mummydee, so right. Fired my doc due to the one size fits all approach. He wouldn't listen to me that drugs were making me crazy. He was really upset that I refused to take them after a few weeks. Threw them out, read a lot and started adding soy milk, soy supplements and some other herb supplements. Don't remember the ones I settled on. Almost no hot flashes, mood swings, sleepless nights became rare. Worked for me.

I also believe diet has a lot to do with it, I don't eat simple carbs, no processed and mostly organic foods, I had 'warm moments' instead of hot flashes, no night sweats, and no mood swings, although my daughter would argue that point! lol....

I have a friend who is a total carb addict, lives on breads scones and grains. and she went through hell. Of course it's not as simple as that but you have to wonder....

Bizarre but My mum went to breathing classes for lung issues, she was taught a trick to deal with hot flushes (I get them and do this it works alot of the time) You breath as if you are blowing up a pretend balloon, blow four to five big gusts, try it it may work for you. (you may get a few funny looks Wink

I find when I avoid added sugar, I don't have night sweats. Each time I've eaten added sugar, they return.

Soy foods! Tofu! Right! I forgot about tofu! I did a little research and it's high in protein and not calorie dense. I'm going to incorporate it in my diet. I'm trying to lay off the red meat, but don't want to be protein deficient. I think I got turned off because of its gmo composition, but I think there's organic and non gmo. Plus Dr. Mercola was very much against it for awhile. Thank You everyone.

Another question. Why do some people have the ticker and some don't???? I'd like a ticker too!!!
