Do you guys track your weight everyday, or is it a weekly thing?
I may be obsessed, but I step on that scale first thing every morning.

I step on the scale first thing every morning.

If you're going to do that you have to be able to cope with short-term fluctuations in either direction and accept that they are exactly that. Some people will freak out if they step on the scale and they're a pound heavier than they were the previous day, but that's perfectly normal. Look for big trends, and understand that weight loss is a jagged curve rather than a smooth one.

I do the same thing. I weigh myself everyday, and I find it is really motivating even if I'm a little heavier because I know what matters is not day-to-day fluctuations but the weekly and monthly weight gains or losses.

I check my weight every morning and then look at the weekly average for a trend. My goal for weight loss is 1/2 to 1 lb. per week.

Absolutely! I step on a scale every morning too - and there is definitely flux in weight and in body fat. I just have to remember that it's the overall vector that matters, not the individual days. It took me a little while to not let the scale set my mood for the day.

I love getting on the scale last thing before bed, I'm the heaviest I would've been all day, Then when I weigh myself first thing in the morning wow, I've lost 2 - 3 lbs by sleeping ! Always amazes me. gotta luv the human body.

As everyone has said, fluctuations are going to happen so don't worry bout a lb or two.

But if you're the type of person that gets depressed by it and would say "it's not working, I give up" then keep it to once a week.

Take your measurements that's a much truer way of knowing how you're doing.

I have this "ritual" that I have had for what seems like forever! First of all I drink water absolutely all day! I really dont drink anything else short of protein shakes. The period between bed time and wake up, no liquids are consumed, but I seem to believe that the majority of liquids consumed are then expelled by the time I wake up. Hence, a more true weight.
With this being said, I weigh most mornings, after shower and blow dry. Wet hair weighs too! I dont drink anything prior to my shower and not until after I weight. So basically I weigh the same time every time I weigh. I might weigh every day and depending on what day Im on, protein day or meal day, usually wont weigh after a meal day. I try to weigh the am of my meal day and not the day after. I celebrate the losses and am mindful of the gains. Knowing both will happen, dont beat myself up for the gains.

I step on it every morning.........but it is not an "official" weight until Sunday morning. Smile
Every Sunday morning, I weigh myself first thing, and that's the only weight that counts for the week. The during the week weigh ins are usually only counted when they are milestones made..but they let me see if I am going to see my weekly goal made, or close to it, or if i need to bump up the exercise or watch my food better.
However, I do NOT flip out on what it says day to day..it's like it never happened...not "official" LOL

How about this? Weigh as often as you like, only record in FS once a week, or once every other week.
This way we satisfy our obsession and yet measure the trend, not the daily snapshot of our progress. Daily weigh in's don't tell the truth, they are only snapshots. Real progress is measured over a period of time.
