I am something of an old girl, with a sore hip that is limiting my exercise. Very frustrating situation.
I really enjoy cooking and have worked out that I have cooked around 12,500 meals in my life.
Love whole foods. I amused myself by baking during Covid early days and need to ditch some kilos.

Hi Lippinanni. I just joined yesterday too. Good to meet you! I have hip problems as well as knees, think it is arthritis. It does make exercise difficult, I agree. I am just taking it slowly on my treadmill and building up in minutes. All I can do.

Hi, good to see you here. I'm not much of a cook myself, except for something simple and quick in time. How's that working out for you? Look for healthy recipes that have lots of greens, avocado, and meat (if that's what you like). It will be great.

Hi, Glad to have you here and hope you're doing perfectly fine.
By the way, walking allows your body to make small adaptations that strengthen your feet, knees, and hips.

Hi All, BlondVital...Thank you for your constant support, I do read the posts and find encouragement in them as I too have to cope with a long term damaged knee for which I now use a knee support, walking is good for us all and as with previous posts- it is within us all to recognise we have to change habits of a lifetime to become happier and healthier good luck to us all recently joined persons - lets encourage each other to achieve our common goal.

Hi, I am not quite an "old girl" but I have problems with my hip and knees. I was diagnosed as patellofemoral syndrome, so even walking up stairs can be a challenge, and I have to be really careful about walking up and down hills and exercize. I am going to get a bike in June (shortage cause of covid) and try to ditch my car for the summer and most of the fall. I live in Canada where there is lots of snow and ice, so winter biking is out. I am also interested in swimming and walking until my issues heal.

I hope losing the weight and eating a low inflammatory diet helps with my current leg issues! I feel the frustration.

Hi all, I am a bit of an 'old girl' too waiting to have spinal surgery after being told I need to get my BMI down to 30 so I can have the op to put in rods and screws. I have also had 1 x failed hip replacement and 1 x revision hip op leaving me with a weight gain.
So with this in mind and my BMI was 36.4 last October I set myself 1200 calorie a day goal. So 9 months later I have only lost 23lbs.......its harder as I live with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis so metabolism is slow.
Exercise is difficult as is mobility too.
Trying low carb now, anyone any ideas?
