In reading your profile, it seems amazing that you have now controlled your blood sugar. What an amazing job considering where you were not long ago! I must say, due to your diabetes and previous health concerns related to that, I would seek advice from your physician on the best route to take for weight loss. Insulin dependent diabetics many times need to be monitored while attempting weight loss, as exercise/calorie restriction will often require adjustment in your insulin dosages. I would advise you to be very careful without help from a health care professional. Best of luck to you and great job!

As a diabetic I was keeping my carbs VERY low... lost 25-30 lbs and then stopped losing. Fasting, lowering carbs even more, exercise, trying zero carbs. I could not lose! I ended up in the hospital for my heart (nothing to do with diet or diabetes). My main nurse that I now see regularly is also diabetic. She recommended I add some carbs to each meal. I dont mean veggies. The dreaded carbs. So I added 1/2 brown rice or a fruit, some greak yogurt, etc to each day. The scale started up again! Good luck!

Being that you are a diabetic I am surprised you aren't seeing a dietician. Whatever weight loss program you are following should be under the supervision and guidance of a professional, i.e. your physician and/or a registered dietician. You are walking a slippery slope when you start playing with your carbs as a diabetic on insulin per the advice here. Do it safe and do it right. Check with your physician about what you should do.

Totally agree with Smoofy.

All the best.

Is your insulin dosage even adjusted based on this low carb diet you are trying to follow?

England is correct. If you haven't seen your doctor your insulin is to high. Since insulin is a fast storage hormone your body could be destroying muscle to spare fast. Worst possible scenario. My mom's diabetic. We've been dealing with it for some time.

Oh yeah. Deal with a doctor or prescribing nurse Who specialises in diabetes.. Don't go to your GP. They don't like the learning curve.

I've heard some cool plans for people with diabetes where exercise and nutrition are already taken into account.

Yes, there are detailed diabetes treatment plans, but they go a long way for everyone. I read about it, Paperap has scientific essays https://paperap.com/paper-on-teaching-plan-for-diabetes-mellitus-197/ on this topic. This is so clear, they say, such plans, everything needs to be selected very subjectively for each hotel person. After all, carbon levels depend on many factors, including physical activity. And many people cannot do this for several reasons.
