I'm Erin. 46. Need to lose 20 pounds. The same 20 pounds I've lost a hundred times. I just lack the willpower to eat well and exercise, but I'm going to try again using this app. Any words of encouragement would be appreciated.Sad

Just a quick thought: what I have read is that there is no such thing as willpower. We have habits that get reinforced and if we change them we change our lives. Like, today instead of driving over to the pizza shop and trying to get a salad and resist the steak tips with fries, I walked over to the gas station and got one of their premade sandwiches. I knew that I would only have a couple of choices there and no fries. So I saved myself hundreds of calories by planning to avoid my bad habit. You can do it!

staying in shape doesn't mean enough to you to put in the work, it can only come from you words of encouragement are pointless.

Its your journey, your life your responsibility

in the end you have to live with yourself , this 20lbs makes you miserable , so you are miserable everyday…… or it doesn't mean that much to you

I like what the two posters above said. I tend to agree. I too have been here a million times. I fell off the horse most recently about 6 months ago and only last week found the motivation within me to get back on. It's been a good week and I feel like I can take responsibility for my body - to appreciate it, to own it and to cherish it - and to keep up the good work. You posted your (very familiar) lament 2.5 months ago. I hope you're doing well now.

Welcome to my world! I am struggling with only 10 pounds but once again, I am having to deal with them and they are just as stubborn as they were the first time. But I think the good news here is that we keep recognizing that they've crept back on us and we still keep working to remove them. Good for us! We care about our bodies and are trying to do the best we can one day at a time. Keep at it and you will succeed. Best!
