Most alcohol is approx 70 calories per ounce. I had always assumed that a std shot glass was 1 ounce but it's actually 1.5

When I am dieting and want to drink I switch from beer to Jack and Coke Zero.

Fred, my understanding was that a standard shot glass is still 1 oz and a jigger is 1.5 oz.

Mmm I too have fallen in love with Jack and Coke Zero!

Wanda, I'm not too worried about carbs (I'm calorie counting, not on Atkins--as noted in the "for diet" section). My body pays attention to how many calories I consume, but thanks Smile

Crystal Light lemonade with Sweet tea flavored vodka. I'm not sure of the calories in the flavored vodka, but man its delicious!

Vodka and other clear alcohols have less toxins than amber colored liquors. And yes, a shot of most any pure liquor is like 70 calories.

My girlfriends and I mix Crystal Light with vodka Smile soooooo many possibilities!!!

I can't believe in college I'd mix a drink with 3 shots!! Whoops... now I stick with 1. Of course, I was overweight then, hahaha!

I've been making myself Manhattans recently. Good bourbon, sweet vermouth, a dash of bitters, and a garnish. The calorie count comes out in at less than 150, and it's way better than anything that has artificial sweeteners in it.

I'm guessing all those delicious flavored vodkas have additional calories/carbs in them? I have a Huckleberry flavored UV vodka, talk about good. Oh and Malibu coconut rum and just about any kind of Crystal Light is so good, but I know Malibu must be off limits with a South Beach diet, lol.

(Like that Skinny Cow ice cream sandwich I had last night wasn't.)

I usually drink Vodka and cranberry or Vodka lemonade with lime. Are these bad choices?

@NicoleUK - Be mindful of the sugar and caloric content in regular lemonade or cranberry juice. There are diet versions of both available, but be careful of aspartame. If vodka is your spirit of choice, club soda with a twist is a good mixer.

I of low calorie drink is green shot tea.

It has following counts

Calories - 280
Total fat - 11 g
Cholesterol - 25 mg
Sodium - 360 mg
Total carbs - 34 g

A single shot of this needs at least 45 minutes of cycling, 30 minutes of running, and 1.9 hours of cleaning. That’s one good excuse to do some spring cleaning.
