Well I have almost three months in on a 24 hour OMAD down to 245 from 285. I am in a dilemma, I am missing some of the dishes I like. And its driving me nuts, SHOULD I take a week off and treat myself, sparingly!!!! OR preserver? I am presently on a LCHF regiment, 600 Caleries /day. I have 45 more pounds to my goal weight of 200. Any comments appreciated.

As for taking a break for Low Carb.... you can do that but make it just one meal once in a while perhaps... if you drag it out over several days it may be harder to get back to it... At least that is my experience. Also ketoer would say that once you have been keto for awhile you are keto adapted and you want to stay that way... One meal however is not going to break that

It's far too easy to fall right back into habits if you are eating whatever you'd like for a whole week. Also, if you're in a bit of a plateau it may be just what you need to kickstart your body into fat burning mode again. Our bodies easily adjust to what we throw at it and throwing a wrench of a high calories meal in there may be just what you need.

I am all for catering to your cravings every now and then because if you don't, eventually you fall into a crazy binge. Just my opinion here. You're doing great!

I would not say you are doing it wrong. There are many ways of doing things and do what works for you. OMAD works for some. I do it once in awhile but most times I have more meals. For keto I think keeping your carbs low is the main thing to focus on. Keep going!!!!

When I lost weight I did maybe an average of 1300 to 1400 calories a day and usually skipped breakfast. This was good for me as now I still have a good metabolism and can eat almost 2000 cals a day without problem

No no you aren't doing it wrong! OMAD is just fine as long as it's sustaining you and your energy needs. I'm saying to only have maybe one cheat meal for one of your OMAD meals per week. Everybody is different and their bodies react differently.

My suggestion is simply to continue your usual OMAD if that's working for you, but then maybe on Saturday you decide to eat whatever you want for that OMAD and then go right back to your usual the next day and just continue that each week. It will help ease your cravings a bit while also giving you something to look forward to once a week Smile Good luck sir!
