I'm new to this kind of diet. Never have tried to discipline myself with food. I like cooking and that has been a challenge for my diet. I started the program a week ago and I already lost 7 lbs. This program works for me and I feel great! I am motivated to continue my diet regimen until I reach my goal. Hopefully, sooner than I expect. Smile

Good luck with your journey! What I've learnt over the years that if you are counting calories, it helps you to focus on what you eat to get the best rewards. 7lbs is a great start!

I admit that before I started joining FatSecret, I was a food addict. I used to enjoy eating at least 2 plates every meal. My blood sugar is high, my blood pressure is fluctuating, I feel symptoms of discomfort everyday. My first week last week, I tried not to fill my plate with food. I chose to use low carb & low calorie diet. It was a success. This is my second week now. I hope I don't lose focus.

What I mean is, last week I tried not to fill my plate with too much food. One thing I've learned also is that I worked too much. Thinking that the more I work will help me lose weight. Stress became a hindrance to my focus. Now, I'm taking things slowly. Rest more hours than I used to and sleep 8 hours as much as I can. Good luck to you as well in reaching your goal.

Hope you've had a good day. I am just getting used to finding my way around the site when I came across your comments. To stop temptation, I only shop once a week (online) which is just as well at the moment. I spend the week putting everything in my basket, loads of treats and things I shouldn't be eating (just to get the fix!!) then take all the 'rubbish' stuff out before final checkout. I try not buy things that I know I will pig out on. My downfall is I love to cook and bake and if I fancy something sweet I will knock up a batch of cakes or scones and me and hubby will demolish them before the end of the day. When I am 'on plan' I can be very focused. I have never engaged with others when trying to lose weight (not even at SW, I used to get weighed and then leave) I hope that by 'talking' to others might make me more accountable, as although we don't know each other, people can see your progress. I am doing the daily accountability challenge to keep me counting calories. Good Luck in your journey

fatsecret iphone app and portions
I have the app on my android and I am able to change portion size no problem, i.e. 2, .5, .25, .33, .75 etc. But my friend has an iphone and her version of fatsecret is different and she cannot figure ...
