Exercise vs calories

I was wondering if the exercises you enter for the day have any effect on the calories you need? I don't see where the exercises you do is kept track of? If the daily goal is 1500 calories, wouldn't your required amount of calories change depending on how much or how little you exercise?

It depends on your goals, but if you are trying to lose weight, you want to make sure your exercise calories are always greater than your food calories. I have been using this app for at least 10 years now and I know it is not super accurate, but it's a good way to get an idea. I always make sure my exercise is greater than my food and I stay at the same weight. Just try to be as accurate as you can and always err on the side against yourself (that is, overestimate your food and underestimate your exercise).

How do you record the number of steps under the exercise tab?
Hi I use another app that counts my steps and tells me how many calories I have burnt and I put it under add exercise . - custom exercise. eg Steps, 230 calories, 45 minutes

There is a free iPhone app called "Runtastic Steps", also available for Android. It counts your steps as well as miles. https://www.runtastic.com/en/apps/me
