This is the second time I've turned to an online website to keep me accountable and to help me lose weight and keep it off. I have successfully lost 20 lbs in the last two years and have kept the weight off, but it's time I push forward again. I am currently at 209, and my goal is 170. I'm not in a super rush to lose the weight as quickly as possible, but I do want to get there within the next three years and I think that is doable.

I have learned that I tend to keep the weight off if I don't lost it too rapidly.

I work part-time as a massage therapist doing medical therapeutical massage, and this is what enables me to keep the weight off. Now I need to hold up to myself how many calories I am taking in vs. how many I am burning off!!

Hi, glad to meet you. Hi, I'm new to this group but I've been with Fat Secret for awhile. Just knowing I have to report in to Fat Secret with my progress or lack of it has helped to keep me on track. I'm 78 and found out a little over a year ago that I had Type 2 diabetes and my thyroid barely functioned, of course I was way overweight. I have listened to my doctors and my dietitian and worked to change my eating habits and my mindset and exercise more. My dietitian connected me with Homemade method (a support group that encourages and helps you get back to cooking and eating healthy meals and fat secret to journal my progress and have an ongoing record of how I am doing. It is working. I still have a good 30 pounds to go to get to my goal weight (my doctor set it not me) but I had a little over 70 to lose when I first started. I can do this. So can you. If I can figure out how to post a before photo and a recent photo I'll do that just to show you it can be done.

I notice you have comments closed on your journal - most people use the app these days rather than coming to the community posts. I'm just sharing that if you want more interaction with other member here you may want to adjust your settings.
