I'm relatively new to the jogging and running game. I had a tendency to heel strike a lot when I started a few months ago, but I'm getting better at landing mid-foot. I've been running/walking on the track mostly, sometimes road, two to three times a week. I wear just normal Under Armour cross trainers, but I think I may need to invest in more of a running shoe. A friend recommended Carson Footwear running shoes. Anyone have a pair of these? If so, got a review?

Thanks!

I had a year where I was all about barefoot running shoes because I wanted to fix my landing. I did that via the Vibrams(toe shoes) but now I'm about finding the right cushioning. I still land in what I believe to be the correct manner but I also have the added benefit of cushioning to help the longevity of my running career.

I've never used Carson's. Currently using some Under Armour running shoes.

Planning on getting out this weekend and trying on some running shoes. I will definitely keep cushioning in mind while doing so. Thanks, man!

Maybe a real place where they will measure and talk about what kind of shoe fit your foot shape best

I guess you know the theory? you need to land on the balls of your feet.
Maybe you're landing on your heels because you're overreaching too much? If your steps are shorter it's easier to properly land on the balls.

I have my own treadmill, so I run either barefoot or with socks on- that helps.

If you run outside or at the gym, try to find shoes that are wide enough for you.

Good luck! Smile

You can likely do a Google search for some type of running center near you. The one I went to had specialists that analyze running styles and can offer advice on the best shoe based on your need. I was skeptical at first (they suggested the dorkiest looking shoes they had), but they actually picked out some winners for me. Hopefully they have better insight on brands too. Hope that helps!
