why go to this much effort? Just quit obsessing about food and focus on exercise instead. I'm 59, a decade post-stroke and I eat maybe 1200/kcal/day and walk at least 10 miles a week.

Well, you do not have to. If what you are doing is working for you do that

You say just focus on exercise yet claim to eat 1200 calories a day. So move more and eat less? Ground-breaking.
Consume whatever foods you prefer, whenever you prefer to consume them, while ensuring nutrient sufficiency and meeting caloric goals.

Are you just frustrated with trying to figure out how to eat to achieve your goal? Your profile doesn't say much just at 180 and want to get to 140. If you're only eating 1200 cal a day you should have reached your goal in probably 12 weeks - or roughly by this time next month - but your profile doesn't indicate your status.

What I can say - is the site helps, the food recommendations helps, but only if you use it.

Good for you Joicardinal! 10 miles a day is waaaayyyyy better than sitting on the couch all day or at an office desk and plopping when you get home. I was told to walk 25 minutes a day...that I would lose my gut and the depression I was in at the time. It worked. Not sure how far one goes in 25 minutes but I would guess maybe 2 miles at the very most or less. If I did that for 5 days it is a good thing. Maybe not a major workout but it is healthy nonetheless.

Absolutely, 3.3 lbs a week is a lot. I don’t think there is a specific target of losing the amount of weight a week unless you are taking weight loss pills. Along with a healthy diet and exercise, weight ...

Hi Claire, what exactly are you looking for? I have much more weight to lose than you do, but I'm willing to try.
