why go to this much effort? Just quit obsessing about food and focus on exercise instead. I'm 59, a decade post-stroke and I eat maybe 1200/kcal/day and walk at least 10 miles a week.

Are you just frustrated with trying to figure out how to eat to achieve your goal? Your profile doesn't say much just at 180 and want to get to 140. If you're only eating 1200 cal a day you should have reached your goal in probably 12 weeks - or roughly by this time next month - but your profile doesn't indicate your status.

What I can say - is the site helps, the food recommendations helps, but only if you use it.

Good for you Joicardinal! 10 miles a day is waaaayyyyy better than sitting on the couch all day or at an office desk and plopping when you get home. I was told to walk 25 minutes a day...that I would lose my gut and the depression I was in at the time. It worked. Not sure how far one goes in 25 minutes but I would guess maybe 2 miles at the very most or less. If I did that for 5 days it is a good thing. Maybe not a major workout but it is healthy nonetheless.
