I have been having monstrous cravings the last few days for pastry, donuts, cake, etc. So far I have fought them off. Anyone have any healthy alternatives that might beat the cravings?

Well first just ask yourself why do you have cravings?

Did you start working out heavily? - I went from 1200Kcal to more than 1900Kcal daily when I started working out daily.

Are you on your period/could it be hormonal?

Do you need a break? Sometimes a diet break is needed, like a week, or even longer (without losing yourself, but still a break)

Good luck.

Having a day a week where you allow yourself one of these treats might help. That's what I did with pizza. I was extra strict the other 6 days of the week to account for the extra calories, but knowing I could have pizza on Friday always helped me stick to my plan.

One bars are great if it's a sweet craving. Macros are important and these have about 20g of protein. A protein shake would also be a good option. For me i aim to be dairy and gluten free. Look up "Amanda Neighbert Registered Dietitian" on Pinterest for protein shake recipies that have about 200 cal and at least 20g of protein. She has a great one called strawberry cheesecake shake.

Just add more good fat to your diet, such as coconut oil (2 Tbsp twice a day), avocado (2 a day). It helps to kill all desire to eat any baked goods.

I allowed myself to indulge for Father's Day. Not a lot but just enough to kill the cravings. Now back to work. I'm just 5lbs away from hitting the 100lbs lost mark and by God I will hit it before the end of the month if it kills me.

I do keto, and I am finding I no longer have the cravings. Just a thought. And I don't stick to a strict keto - for instance, I don't think I have ever been in ketosis. I'm 73, and I don't count calories.

Weird, I keep seeing people say keto takes away their cravings yet so many yo-yo, quit altogether and leave the site, or have a weekly binge. Wonder why.
Consume whatever foods you prefer, whenever you prefer to consume them, while ensuring nutrient sufficiency and meeting caloric goals.
