I have lost 8kg over 3 months...but is starting craving something sweet. Why? I don't use any sort of sugar in my diet...could it be hormones?

It is hard to say. Cravings can be caused by many different things like havits and emotions and needs. I get some of my like for sweets met by eating veggies, a few berries and some very dark chocolate. If it is really bad I may have some artificial sweetener in yogurt of cream.

It could be. Is there a specific reason you're avoiding all sugar?

I don't use sugar at all except when making something a bit sweet using Stevia. I crave sweets and found a site caringcandies.co.za. These products are all sugar free or sucrose free, gluten free, and have NO ARTIFICIAL sweeteners, colourants, or preservatives. They are naturally sweetened with Isomalt, Xylitol, Erythritol, Stevia etc. Most are carb free or low carb, while a few are are high in nett carbs. Suitable for Diabetics, individuals with Coeliac Disease, ADD / ADHD and those following a Paleo or Low Carb lifestyle!

Love stevia! One of my favorite things to add to create a healthy dessert.

Hi i'm on the keto diet and have had to cut out sugar. It is difficult but the longer you can go it will definitely get easier. Try not to deprive yourself, mentally it is easier to have small treats but use the natural sweeteners like stevia ect. If you feel that you are depriving yourself you are more likely to fall off the wagon. If you do falter just draw a line under it and start again you have done tremendously well so far keep that in mind

I have found lots of desserts that are Keto friendly on Pinterest. My husband is always wanting something sweet, he has lost 50 pounds and I have lost almost 40 on the Keto diet, when we first started it we had no sugar at all, just the sweetener that is allowed on Keto.

Try eating sugar free popsciles that is what I eat or sugar free jello with nut pieces or HALO TOP icecream with only 5 grams of sugar for 3 servings they are great and really hit home when I am craving sweets but NO sugar for the first 2 items

I am not on a keto diet but I make deserts with limited sugar. I use half the sugar the recipe calls for and the other half I use granulated splenda.

Try to add more good fat to your diet - coconut oil, avocado, olives/olive oil, butter, cheese.

One thing I have never seen touched on in these threads is the elimination of alcohol. One of the problems of withdrawals from alcohol is a 'sweet or sugar' craving.... So if you've cut out alcohol completely this could be your brain searching for anything to feed those neurotransmittors , such as wine, ruM which are full of sugars ? Just a thought
