Hi, I'm 61 and full time employed in quite a demanding job in a very demanding sector (Education). I've been trying to lose weight all of my adult life but have actually gained. Recently I gained six pounds since 27th April. Over the years I have cut down on just about everything. I rarely eat biscuits or cake. I cut down on the cheese and crackers. Recently I have cut out the wine altogether and still I gain. I have been sticking (when I'm on plan) to a 1200 a day diet for about 30 years. I looks like I have finished my menopause so get to sleep better and I am starting to feel the effects of arthritis in my joints. Part of me would like to give up, but I can't, because whenever I catch a glimpse of myself I am so disappointed at the way that I look (vain I know). I don't have to be thin, just not this fat. Anyway, sorry to waffle. I have started on plan again today and hope to get down to that elusive 9 stone 7 lbs eventually. First target reach 12 stones by September so losing 12 lbs. Any support you can give will be very welcome.

You might want to try and weigh all things you eat to count calories more accurately. 1200 a day is really low, I think you might be underestimating some of what you're eating.
