My recommendation would be: Clean up your diet until your knees are ok. You don't need to work out to lose weight.

I do low carb 20-25 a day if you stick with it will work for you. I read a lot about it and made sure I had prepared food in the house if your on fb some of the keto/ low carb sights are very informative ...

Saving calories
