Keto eating

Is anyone else doing a Ketogenic lifestyle way of eating? Have done it before for awhile and did well, but slipped back into carbs again. I started again last week and lost 7 lbs. The level of satisfaction is through the roof! The research that I have done shows this is the best way to BEAT type 2 diabetes... that's goal. Nothing about this comes close to the typical American diet. You'll notice I didn't say Keto diet, 'diet' always suggest "I'm just doing this till I loose weight", or what ever. I believe all of us need to view what we are doing is in fact a lifestyle change.

I've been keto/LCHF since August 2017. I am down 40lbs (with several "off the wagon" moments. I very much love this way of eating! I use a forum It is an amazing fountain of information and they have a lot of help for people who are managing type 2 diabetes. Good Luck!

HI, I'm on Day 4 of my Keto life and so far I'm good. Doing my best not to focus on the negative adjustment scenarios, since I know I could easily talk myself right into one Sad. So far I am excited and motivated and hopefully with help from similar minds here I will reach my goals of a new healthy life style.

Yep! I went KETO around summer 2016 and am down 96lbs and off daily insulin injections! My 1 yr checkup is 1 Feb 2017(I was told 2-5 years to live 1yr 6 days ago). My sugar went from 345 to 95 in a year! KETO ON BABY!

A keto diet is well known for being a low carb diet, where the body produces ketones in the liver to be used as energy. It's referred to as many different names – ketogenic diet, low carb diet, low carb high fat (LCHF), etc. When you eat something high in carbs, your body will produce glucose and insulin.

I've done it before. It's... ok. Doesn't suit my present needs. Depends entirely on your goals. If it's working for you that's really good!

There's a pretty active keto subreddit as well as one dedicated to exercise/lifting weights that's keto centric.

Loved the Zone, loved paleo, loved intermittent fasting then found keto. LOVE. Began 10/2016. Lost 19 pounds so far with many more to go. More importantly I regained energy I thought was gone forever. Inflammation way down, moods improved. I don't have cravings and when I do eat the food is so incredibly delicious and satisfying. I still do IF. That, I believe, was the greatest tool in controlling appetite and focusing on my body's true food needs.

I think the body does that a lot. Great that you hung in there and was patient. Some people go crazy and do weird things or just give up. But believing in your diet is the main thing

what are the best calorie foods you personally find?
Exercising would be best for muscle mass combined with eating protein rich food. What every you like to eat, I suppose
