I'd be happy to join in. My story is I am an old Atkins follower. I've been off the wagon for the past year and a half due to some health issues that necessitated a drastic change in my diet, but resulted in a lot of weight gain. I have unfortunately regained 50 pounds that I lost years ago with Atkins, eating LCHF real food, not the Atkins junk food. Now I am trying to go more keto with my diet, both to lose the weight and to try to starve off diagnosed SIBO. I am struggling to eat any veggies or fruit, or anything with much fiber content as a result of the SIBO. I also have developed officially diagnosed severe lactose intolerance, so many LCHF fallback recipes are out for me. A whole food, dairy-free keto diet seems to fit the bill for health and weight loss for me.

Anyone know how to change the icon thing of a glass of wine? It just randomly appeared with my post (and I can't even drink wine Crying or Very sad ).

I been low carb for years.. and maintain the huge amount I lost in the past 7 yrs.. I love my low carb way of eating and never let myself even taste the crap I call REGULAR FOODS.. they kept me huge my whole life... finally it took wrapping my head around the fact that... Reg foods was killin' me.. so... if it aint low carb and i read every label.. do I want to spend part of my 20 carbs a day on ... 2 tbs or what ever it said..nope .. I finally got the fact that... this small amount.. that should not hurt anyone.. was sure hurting me and making me start all over again week after week.. did not like the starting over and over ....and folks I eat better than anyone I know.. yes.. I do cook it myself and I love all foods and love to try new recipes... and guess what?? after a long time... anything with sugar ..tastes really bad.. the taste buds do change...........have a super day everyone...
and like I said if you do low carb.. add me as a buddy happy to meet new folks too........

folks get a Dr Atkins book.. no matter how old it is. he was one very smart man.. . and read how low carb changes our body.. there is no ..secret.. just fill up on low carb foods and tell yourself .. that reg food is killin' ya.. and slowly cook for you and put it on the table and everyone can eat or not..breakfast.. bacon, eggs sausage.. l.c. pancakes make egg muffins.. fast and easy and ready to grab going out.......lunch.. this is hard for me.. but egg salad.. tuna salad.. 1-2 carb turkey meat some cheese rolled up .. ...supper.. some kind of meat... and a lot of it.. 1-2 veggies you can have.. and a salad.. fill up.. drink drink that water...flush out them carbs... watch the pkgs of sweetner.. each one has 2 carbs.1 cup of the powdered has...24 carbs per cup...they do not tell us this one... had to learn it all on my own.. sure glad i did...... use a liquid 0 carbs 2 drops is a pkg... order on line.. seems high dollar but really not as it lasts for ever..

I've been IF and ketoing since October. This is the first time in decades I've found what I should have been doing my whole life. I am the walking talking example of following the SAD over the years. Through keto I've regained vitality, energy and flexibility. I go long hours without hunger. When I do eat, the food is delicious and luscious no matter what it is! Could be just a leaf of romaine, but the taste! After the planned addictions to processed foods passes it's like you never tasted food before. All of it, intensely gloriously delicious. I love being able to run errands again after work, never had the energy before. One and done, that was my life for way too many years. I'm happy to speak with anyone about keto. I've lost 15 pounds, fat rocks as long as you eat it and not wear it.

I do a high protein and fat diet(mono/poly saturated fats (good fats) and low to no carbs. I came down from 65kg to 55kg from May to about Nov/Oct last year, I exercised quite a lot too. But I can say diet is def 80% of losing weight, exercising will give you that kick start you need to burn fat. You can always tone after you reached your goal weight.. I try to keep this lifestyle everyday as carbs/sugar are no good, esp not processed carbs/foods- like bread cakes and all that crap. I try to stay away, I have myself a cheat day every now and again and I def think cheat days are very important, you give your body a shock! Also on this healthy lifestyle, you will never have a problem with your weight, if you follow this, no sore tummies from gluten or lactose intolerance etc, only healthy lifestyle!Bad Grin Surprised Very Happy Be sure to add some fiber into your diets, very important for gut healthy and keep you intestines and colon healthy! " YOU ARE NOT WHAT YOU EAT, YOU ARE WHAT YOUR GUT DIGESTS" Fruit is great, if you on a strict weight loss diet, I wouldn't recommend a lot of fruit.

Hello
I would love to support you, but not with LCHF etc..
I am counting calories only, so I eat everything and body is happy with the progress. Also I do 10k steps a day and try and drink my 6 glasses of water etc.

I've been studying keto LCHF for several months and then finally went ALL IN in 01/26/17. I'm loving it and while I wish I would have started it right away back in October/November when I first heard of it, I know I gave myself a great foundation by reading keto books, watching YouTube videos and getting into some Facebook keto groups to really understand it first. I attribute this to the success I've had so far and hope to help others along the way as well. Feel free to add me as a buddy!

I started keto in mid January and am already down by 10 pounds. I started by doing lazy keto (not tracking Macros) and lost 5 lbs then stalled. After finding Fat secret and tracking foods I have dropped another 5lbs. I would like some buddies to help keep me motivated as my family is not very supportive.

Add me as a buddy. Doing the LCHF as well. I was on it in 2015 and then had some tragedies and many obstacles in 2016 and just dropped off. Gained 30 lbs in 2016.
I was not down to my weight so I have 138 pounds to go. I did lose 5 lbs in this last week and I feel good.

I am looking for buddies. I am 52 yrs. old and many health problems especially was an out of control diabetic (8.2 A1C). Already just a few weeks into this way of eating I have not required fast acting insulin sliding scale because my glucose numbers have not been over 200 (the point at which I am to start with instructed sliding scale doses.) I still have to take Glucophage and Levemir-long acting insulin. I started LCHFMP-low carb, high fat, moderate protein/ketogenic diet March 7, 2017, @ 308 lbs. Today is the 25th (18 days in) I have lost 20 1/2 lbs.! I am doing MACROS: 1600 calories a day/carb: 20 grams (5%)/protein: 80 grams (20%)/fat: 133 grams (75%).
Starting weight was 308 lbs on March 2nd, 2017. Setting loss goals in 25 lbs increments. Final goal weight 140-150 lbs. Scars are like tattoos...they are a forever reminder...but all are not visible to the naked eye.
