Russ v , you are so right. I finally saw the light about fat free, artificially sweetened foods. They are so unhealthy for me. I am concentrating on calories and quality of foods combined. I have proved to myself that eating real food versus processed is so much better in many ways and allows me to lose weight too.

I told my husband I did not want chocolates for Valentine's Day this year. He seemed almost hurt that what had been his normal gift each year was no longer welcome.

I try to remember that while this brings big changes for me, it also affects the rest of my family. Don't doubt that they love you. I think it is just hard for them to understand how hard it is to resist something you really shouldn't be eating when it is right in front of you.

My Hubby bought me a 5 lb box of chocolate this year. I brouhgt it to our friends valentines day party and let everyone else eat it. It was really hard for me not to pick out my favorites and watch everyone else eat them.

Sad Yes, my dad has very frequently done these things and it drives me crazy! Some people just don't get it. ~_~ I moved out, lost 42lbs, starting to kinda look good. Kinda says it all. Gotta learn to say no and to be assertive about it. I know it's hard when something yummy is on the table, but remember your goals.

I totally get it. I totally get it. It is difficult when people around you are like "one bite won't hurt." They don't get that if you eat that 1 bite, you are going to cave, or that it sets you back 3 days as does with atkins. It's difficult. You have to be assertive.

Yesterday, I made 18 chocolate frosted cupcakes for my son. I made sure not to even lick my fingers if frosting got on them, because I knew it would be the straw that broke the camel's back.

Yup. I gave up all carbonated beverages and my sweetie bought me a Soda stream machine for Christmas. WTH?

Hey, Nopunchbacks, a tip for soda-holics. Just make carbonated water and don't use any flavor pack. My son's and I started making small batches of 'natural' sodas of carbonated water, and 12 oz organic frozen juices. No sugars added whatsoever, but they turned out sweet and delicious plus stay fizzy in the fridge a day or so. We don't make them every day, but the boys were hooked and we haven't bought high-fructose corn syrup beverages or expensive natural, pure cane sodas in ages. Our natural soda is what they ask for! Who knew?

YES!! The real-food-cool-kids Cool (lol)! I'm certain all this diet labeled food is a trap and just leads to yo-yo-ing (and buying) without ever learning how to properly eat. I am so very satisfied when I have my whole foods. It is counter-intuitive, but amazingly true that I'm happier, function better and lose weight more easily when I eat 1/2c whole yogurt, fruit and honey rather than some snack with sugar alcohols or junk! The fakes leave me cranky, messed up tummy and hungry as all outdoors...I'm an evil dieter but a gracious whole food eaterLaughing

Weird, I keep seeing people say keto takes away their cravings yet so many yo-yo, quit altogether and leave the site, or have a weekly binge. Wonder why.
