This was so me at the start of this journey: "Many did not realise until the end that happiness is a choice. They had stayed stuck in old patterns and habits. The so-called 'comfort' of familiarity overflowed into their emotions, as well as their physical lives. Fear of change had them pretending to others, and to their selves, that they were content." I could think of a thousand reasons I was fat and none of them had anything to do with me (genetics, stress, busy job, kids.) It wasn't until I CHOSE happiness that I found success, not only with weight loss, but with contentment overall. This, I think, is the key: I don't feel tied to a number on the scale or a spot on a chart to reach my goal.
