Poo before a weigh in?

Is having a poo before you weigh yourself cheating? Not actually having placed one on the scales - a decent poo must weight a few grams. Or should you weigh at the same time everyday, regardless of having had a poo or not.

I'm a weight loss newbie, so go easy... Smile

There's no official rulebook for weighing yourself, so it's only "cheating" if you think it is. But you shouldn't think so. In fact, it's more accurate than the alternative - when you weigh yourself afterwards, you're getting a better reading... what you flush away isn't part of your body mass.

Am still laughing at this one. I think if you weigh yourself at the same time every week "it" (weight with and without poo) will average out over time. What I'm laughing at is not your question but how desparate we are to show a loss on the scale. Relax and be patient. The scale will eventually cooperate!

Just another example of all the crazy things that impact our weight! In my book, the only true way to "cheat" a weigh in involves intentionally dehydrating yourself or using a laxative. As long as its you on the scale and you actually saw the reading, I think it's a legit weigh in- unless you've found some way to make some of your weight somehow not show up?

LOL - I agree! We can be crazy when it comes to weigh in day. What we do to ourselves! So, what happens if normally you do first, but then maybe next week just can't go, (happens to me all the time)? Maybe a few before & afters to get an average & then subtract that?

Heck yeah, there's nothing wrong with it. I take my watch off. If my wedding ring had anything even resembling 'weight' to it I would take that off, too.

Bless you for becoming one of the brave. I see you have 5 kg/11 pounds to lose to reach your target weight. This should be a breeze. What I might reach out and suggest (don't you love unsolicited advice?) is take it from me and use prudence and keep that 5 kg in check forever and always. I'm an old lady who foolishly had way too much fun letting her self go. What's the old saying? If you're going to let yourself go, make sure you can get yourself back.

Expect the difference to be between about .2 and 1 lbs, in my experience.

(How do I know? I weigh myself first thing in the morning. I sometimes repeat the process 20 minutes later.)

best way to not worry about what the scale says is to get a body fat analyzer. They aren't always 100% accurate but from my experiences they are close enough to monitor fat loss. I haven't lost weight in 3 weeks but im down a little over 1% body fat.....just another way to see the gains and get the whole picture.

Put bottle with sauce/dressing on food scale. Tare the weight to 0 Pour amount you desire on food or salad. Put back on scale, which will show a negative number. That number (I measure all items in grams) ...
