Breakdown of daily percentages for carbs, fat, protein - does not seem to add up

Hello, I am very new to FatSecret and I am looking at the daily breakdown of carbs, fat, and protein and things do not seem to add up across the board. Are the numbers listed for daily carbs, protein and fat supposed to be calories or what. Not really understanding how this works and how I calculate the number of calories in carbs unless I use a the daily percentage and just do a simple calculations based on calories and percentage of carbs. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Its NOT right I am on MYFITNESSPAL.COM and It says that I should be eating 1200 calories a day if I want to lose 2 pds a week but I have NEVER lost that much the most I have ever lost is 5 pds a month and FatSecret says that I should be eating 1500 calories if I ate that I would GAIN weight and I don't see the numbers at all for fat, protein, sugar, salt or carbs but on Myfitnesspal I have carbs 150, Fat 40, Protein 60, Sodium 2,300 and Sugar 45, and YES they are ALL CALORIES ok but right now I am off of all carbs except vegs and I heard if you kept sugar down to 10 cal a day you could lose a LOT more but that is HARD I eat good sugars with a couple of pieces of fruit a day and I eat salads, meat, lean and fish trying to eat clean and lost 5-8 pds a MONTH as I have 70 pds to lose and have lost 40 pds, 20 pds a year as I only work out in the summer and MAINTAIN in the winter because its too cold to work out but I did get a bike so I will probably be doing tha 3 times a week in the winter now

I think you are talking about something else janine. You are talking about calorie deficits to lose. I think RussianBlue was talking about food macros. The food macros are right. What the individual need to eat to lose will be very personal numbers all depending on their activity, muscle-mass, age, if they have any illness, and metabolism. That one is hard to generalize about and we have to find and adjust. FatSecret allows you to adjust your own and that is what I do.

liv001, I was talking about the totals at the top of the page that tell you how many carbs, fats, and proteins you have had based on your calorie intake. I think I figured it out and those figures are in grams. If you calculate the fats out x 9 and the carbs and proteins out x 4, the figures do add up almost exactly.

percentages don;t add up in the app
The percentage is not based on weight, but on calories. Fat has more calories for the same weight.
