I would suggest going by the nutritional info on the bottle of mayo you're eating from.. If it's different from what's on site you can also add to your "custom foods" to record accurate carb count..

Some brands of Mayo add sugar. I check labels in the store to find one that doesn't, then add that particular brand to the food database here. I agree with BBD5, it's always safer to go with the info off the label in your hand than what someone else has read off a different label and typed into the database.

A rule of thumb is that most Mayo has no carbs. ANY brand of mayo style salad dressing (IE Miracle Whip) has plenty.
Agreeing with BBD5 and LizCon, the best thing you can do is add YOUR brand to the database, then you'll always be sure of accessing what you ate.

<grinning> I think that that is the single most fear in every Atkin's dieters day. ACCIDENTALLY ingesting carbs. Heck, if we're going to get carbs we should be the ones to pick 'em.
There have been times I have been so paranoid that I would NOT drink a fountain soda because I wasn't sure they weren't tainted, or mixed up, or anything... haha. Everything tasted like it had sugar, even when it didn't.
I'm glad your scare is over!

Sometimes I think I mess up when it has things i like to eat like bridgford Pepperonis, but the serving size is different or the calories are a little off... I just go with what the package says, I usually keep a spreadsheet of my food to with basic info, so i can check it against what's on here.

Consumers don't have to list carb count, if it is lower then one gram. So if mayo has anything less then one carbs, they will list it as zero.

You may want to enter your brand of mayo into the database. Then you can select your brand when you have it.

I find it scary if a little mayo can make you "totally blow it" by "accidentally eating carbs". Wow. Talk about being on an impossible journey. Hats off to those of you who manage this. I couldn't. And wouldn't.

I went from morbidly obese to being the owner of TABDIG - a weight loss coaching service that helps people worldwide losing weight. It's been an amazing journey. From October 4th 2010 to April 3rd 2012 I lost half my body weight - 80 kilos/170 lbs. Since then, I have had two cosmetic surgeries to remove excess skin. I have now quadrupled my strength, gained several kilos in muscle mass, and today I focus on building muscle, optimizing my diet, living healthy and helping people to reach the very same goals. I am stronger, healthier, thinner, happier! If you feel that you need help losing weight, don't hesitate to send me an inbox message.

Hellman's mayo has no carbs but other brands (generic) do have some limited carbs.

Kingkeld, it's not impossible at all. It just means that one needs to be AWARE of what they are putting into their bodies and make informed and correct choices for themselves.

Isn't that what you're doing, too? Wink

Hellman's, like most real mayo, is made with whole eggs and egg yolks. Unless Hellman's has a process to remove the carbs from the eggs, then there are indeed carbs in Hellman's mayo. It is likely a very small amount and thus reported on the label as "0".
