I use abt half a cup of heavy cream in my coffee everyday n abt the same for a protein shake as well. So im wondering is there a limit on how much u can hv per day?? And the reason I'm wondering is because I'm not losing but one to two pounds if that per week. I don'tget it...last yr iI did the diet for two weeks or so & lost 16lbs. So idk I'm just frustrated. I work out ... Zumba abt 30 mins 4 days a week...I am wondering that maybe I'm just losing inches but if that were so then my clothes would fit better.

You could use Yogurt in your protein shake which would reduce your fat and calories by half at least, beware of cream substitutes they have alot of sugar in them.

I've been doing the almond milk by Silk, unsweetened, for <1 carb, and love it. Losing fat is frustrating for sure, but better than gaining!!!! Keep the faith, it'll work!!!!

Is yogurt OK in the induction? I do have almond milk but I just thought that it was better to use the cream since it said 0 carbs.

Yogurt is not allowed in induction. Almond milk is allowed in this phase as long as its unsweetened. Just curious and I don't mean any harm in asking this but why drink a protein shake when you can fix an actual meal with protein?

Its just quicker to do so after a workout and I have 4 kiddos one is a toddler the other an infant and twin 4 yr olds, so its faster for me cuz as you know with kids....well Lol you just never knw that's the point. So what do u think about heavy cream 1/2 to 1/4 a cup in my coffee everyday? Could that hurt me in my weight loss? Because obviously somethings stalling it.

I absolutely know what you mean, I have kids as well.

I drink Horizon half & half. 1NC per serving. I drink three cups every morning. How long has it been since you've lost weight? Do you track everything on here, if so I can take a look and see if there's any tweaking to be made to help get the weight loss rolling.

no i dont track everything on here i was tracking everything on the app for atkins but i have slowed on that to since i've been eating pretty much the same thing and know my limits. another issue with the time to come and get on the comp to do these things its just easy with the phone since it moves to any room lol. Um on the net carbs in the protein shake they can be btwn 3.5-4.5 usually. ill do a half of a atkins wild berry shake, which is one carb since the whole thing is 2. and a half scoop of the protein powder which is 3.5 then ill put cinnamon and vanilla extract and flax seed.

Oh ok. Are you eating actual meals through out the day or relying on Atkins products?

That could be the culprit right there. A lot of folks have problems with losing weight when they rely more on Atkins products rather than actual meals. I understand having kids and maybe not having enough time to cook meals for yourself. Try finding recipes or cooking more that stretches longer so that you can rely on the real stuff.

Just make sure you eat 20NC with 12-15NC coming solely from acceptable veggies. I think once you are able to do that you will be able to lose weight.

thank you im gonna try doing that this week. also now that you just said 20nc daily...i was wondering why the atkins carb tracker says 20-25 nc daily. i had been doing the 20 nc til I saw that then changed to up to 25 nc but mostly tried to stay on the 20 nc.

You're welcome hun. That's actually an I consistancy on their site. I have the most recent book out, New Atkins for a New you (aka NANY). The first time I did induction I went by 20-25nc before I got the book and still lost 14lbs in 10 days. I also started at 285, 115lbs overweight. The more you have to lose, the quicker the first few pounds are to come off.

Hey there, I can understand being pressed for time, may I make a couple of suggestions? You sound like myself, you don't mind eating the same things frequently. For breakfast, you could make a quiche (I make mine usually on Sunday mornings when I have the most free time), don't be afraid to load up on veggies in this, they make it even better!! It can be cut into 7 servings and will last you the entire week for breakfast. This is a huge time saver especially because I don't feel like making breakfast during the week.

There's some ideas for quiche recipes.

Also, make doubles of any dinner you have during the week, and package them up for lunches. This is a huge time saver and keeps you on track with healthful food prepared at the ready. Good luck!!

If you are in induction, you are limited to 2-3 Tablespoons (1.5 oz) of cream a day. 1/2 cup is equal to 8 Tablespoons or 4 oz. Looks like you are overdoing the cream limit. Have you done the lessons on the atkins.com web site? Check out this link: http://www.atkins.com/Program/Phase-1/How-to-Do-Induction-Right.aspx
