I cannot figure out how to add a simple custom food with known macros. I eat from a local place with a menu that publishes nutritional info for all of its foods.
I simply want to create a new food and add its fat, carbs, and protein.
Can someone give me a clue as to how to do this? It should be MUCH simpler to do.
EDIT: Here's the item I want to add: "Pesto Bar-rito":: 41g protein, 440 calories, 18g fat, 27g carbs, 8g fiber
Anyone?

I figured out how to do this. I'm writing full and complete instructions.
FWIW, fatsecret's UI poorly supports this process. It should be improved.
----ADDING A CUSTOM FOOD and MACROS---- *Accurate as of 8/24/2015. *Following instructions are for the computer browser interface.
1. Click the MY FAT SECRET main tab.
2. Click the dinner plate icon to enter food.
3. Click Add Item in the meal period or type.
4. The Add Item module will now be expanded. In the Search for Food search field, search for the food you want to add, but use a unique name that isn't in the database.
5. Initiating the search will bring up a + Add new food link just below the results list. This is what you've been looking for.
6. Click the + Add new food link. This will bring up a window asking you if you want to add your new food to the database. Click yes.
7. The My Food Diary - Add Item To Food Database screen will now appear.
8. Add your food's details. Unfortuately, fatsecret is forcing validation on macros you might not know, like fiber content. My workaround has been to add zeros into those fields.
Good luck.

Thank you. The other explanations were useless.
