I have been losing some weight but nothing is happening in the "belly" area. When I look at family pictures, we all have the beer belly, both men and women. Is there something I can do to help with this area? I have a wedding in October and I really would like to loose a little of the ROUNDNESS of this area.

I'm having same problem. My doctor advised me to eliminate common allergic foods for 21 days. Check out my challenge called 21 day fit. I started 2 days ago and have lost 4 Pounds and feel great. I started the challenge to help women like me, but I think it would help anyone. Smile

thanks for the input. That seems to be most of my diet. and as for the running, I think I will do a fast walk. My feet and knees won't take that kind of abuse lol

Your body decides where to store fat, and sadly, where to remove fat. There is no specific exercise or diet you can use to target fat areas. The only thing to do is caloric deficit over a long enough period of time. Just keep at it, you'll get there!

Agree with ieGod. Watch your sodium intake too. Excess sodium can also make you look puffier. Genetics plays a part in this too. What's your exercise regimen like?

You could do some Pilates or yoga to build up core strength, it will build up your stomach muscles, straighten your back to make your posture better , the bump won't disappear but it will look better... And that makes you feel better

Actually the I BURN plan by Pomeroy does work fast! My tummy started to get flatter within 7 days. You may also have a problem with Soy or yeast or another allergen that is making your tum bloated. High fructose corn syrup can be an issue too!! I cut that stuff OUT!!

I read "Burn the fat, feed the muscle" by Tom Venuto. It is a bit of a self help approach to fitness but has some great advice and programs to work to. It has been very successful for me - might be worth a look.

Yeah what ieGod said. You have to find your BMR and do not go too far under it just 100-200 calories. Make sure you are still eating 2 grams of protein per kg of bodyweight at least when in calorie deficit - you don't want to lose muscle. It is hard to begin with to get that sweet spot of BMR minus 10% - but perseverance and focus will get you there. Start lifting heavy weights as well - plenty of web information on that as well. Do not lose weight too fast just 0.5kg a week - week in week out.

I have seriously reduced my belly by cutting out all wheat products and reducing sugar and sugary snacks. I eat lower carb and while i may eat one gluten free refined food like a gf bread or pasta, it is infrequent and in small quantities.

Cutting wheat ( pizza - pasta) is the main part but I would recommend checking your blood type first . Burning fat is much easier if you buy a set of hand weights and train for abs for half an hour everyday - it could be the morning or before you go to bed. That and a good diet would reduce belly fat within weeks , you just have to believe in yourself and put on your favorite music and get going . Once you hit your 40s its not going to be easy so you have to push yourself . belive me ive been there.

there is no such thing as spot reduction. Its a matter of genetics where a body puts, or burns fat from.

You'll get just the same calorie reduction from a more whole (or even 1/2) body workout, and better overall muscle tone as well.

Give up sugar. even the fake sugar. Eat Grapefruit to burn fat, drink green tea to burn fat. Im a firm believer in old fashioned sit ups for flattening the tummy. A weighted hula hoop is great for shaping your waist.

What worked for me to flatten my belly was fasting. I do OMAD and within the first couple weeks my stomach waaaay down and it is totally flat now after about 8 weeks. I eat what I have available and keep my cal intake under my recommended. Weekends I trying to eat 3 meals a day at regular time. Then I start back over again on Monday. You will get used to it quickly if your used to eating during the morning/daytime... it is easy and it works and I am 50...

I look a lot like my grandma too. Round but I also have her wrinkles etc. It does not bother me. Makes me smile when I look in the mirror.

I'll get back to you on the belly thing if I ever figure it out
