Here are some of mine:
Last week I was down to 201 lbs. the next day I was up to 204 and I stayed there all week until today. I only keep the lowest number I see as my true weight. So, instead of getting frustrated, I always go out for lunch at Texas Roadhouse (best steak around) I order a 16 oz fat laden rib-eye, charred medium rare with baked sweet potato, green beans and sauteed mushrooms and onions. I pound down 8 ounces of the steak and wipe out all the veggies. For dinner, I warm up the remaining steak on the George Foreman with a corn on the cob and "WALLAH!" I'm back in the game this morning at 201 again. I don't know why it works, I'm sure kingkeld can educate me on my indulgence day once a week that works miracles. One thing is that I never exceed my calorie budget and if I do it's usually not by much. I usually cut way back on other meals to make room in my budget for my indulgence day once a week. The skin on the sweet potato is low cal and has more fiber in it than a cup of raw oatmeal, the mushrooms are a free cal food, onions are somewhat free and the green beans, well they are green and green is good and the corn on the cob is well known as a dieters dream food. Then after all that I recommend a cup of 3 Ballerina brand Chinese green tea (extra stength). This stuff keeps everything moving through your digestive system, guaranteed results the next morning. Super stuff! You can get it on amazon.com or at almost any asian store. If you can't find it, any tea with Cassia Angustifolia (Senna) will do the job. Great job everybody and Good Luck!

You said crazy, right ? When I see a commercial for something that is very tempting I imagine that size 2 model in the commercial as a size 24 or bigger! (No offense intended to those who are size 24 or bigger)

Yes mummydee, it has worked for me every single time. I am not suggesting this as an everyday thing but if you have plateaued I would have to say having an indulgent day of high protein/fat and low carb just like you said works. kingkeld you are right about the indulgent day, it works for me. Thanks (I guess it's not really a crazy little trick after all)

Thinner120: I like looking at those commercials and now that you said that; it's all ruined for me...joking, have you seen the Carl's jr. commercial where the perfect little model is mackin on a double cheese bacon burger the size of her head and then spills ketchup on her pretty little shirt. Ridiculous! Rolling Eyes

Itzjstjeff, you tried it out? I'm glad it worked!

For me, one of those things that are DEFINITELY in the "crazy, but working" category, is the tapping.

I went from morbidly obese to being the owner of TABDIG - a weight loss coaching service that helps people worldwide losing weight. It's been an amazing journey. From October 4th 2010 to April 3rd 2012 I lost half my body weight - 80 kilos/170 lbs. Since then, I have had two cosmetic surgeries to remove excess skin. I have now quadrupled my strength, gained several kilos in muscle mass, and today I focus on building muscle, optimizing my diet, living healthy and helping people to reach the very same goals. I am stronger, healthier, thinner, happier! If you feel that you need help losing weight, don't hesitate to send me an inbox message.

It seems that the video is no longer available in all countries. Here is an alternative link. Different video, same guy and same approach:

Ribeye steak is not an indulgent day for me, it's an every day event, along with bacon and eggs and salad and lots of veggies and fish. No processed. Never hungry and never crave what others call 'treats' . Yes I eat Ice cream but i eat natural organic naturally sweetened .

I did the 'tapping' King, very interesting. Almost like self hypnosis/meditating.

Yes, the indulgence day has worked on many many occasions, I guess I never put two and two together. Just last night I realized I have actually been practicing what you have been preaching all along but I never really associated with dieting. I always looked at it as a bad thing, a reward day, a bad day or I always felt guilty for allowing myself that privilege. But on the other hand my weight has always dropped immediately, like the very next day. I don't know if I could actually call it an indulgence day because I rarely exceed my budget on those days. I make it work within the boundaries of my plan. So I'm leaning towards mummydees reasoning for why it works. Low carb/high fat, free veggies and then again I think I remember you posted something about tricking the mind, remember that? Watched the video yeah, it's borderline crazy but if it works, let me know! I can be a tapper but only if it's legit.

Jeff - Regarding the Indulgence day: The Indulgence Day even works when you eat sugars and other "bad things". At least for me. I've had many times where I just gave in and did what I wanted instead of what I should. Sugar is by far my largest enemy in this game, and Indulgence Day has been my rescue on this many times. However, it OBVIOUSLY is a much better idea to go with proper food, like the high fat/protein and less carbs. And of course - does it really matter what the reasoning behind it is, as long as it works?

...and regarding the tapping: It definitely works. I practice it on a regular basis. I teach it in my classes. It works for my clients too. So go ahead - look silly! At least you'll look silly AND kill cravings. It's 100% legit. Also, it works on everything else that comes from a form of stress factor. I've had people in my weight loss classes that started tapping and as a side effect quit smoking. Smile

Kingkeld, do you not find that the more you go without (sugars) the less you need to satisfy that sweet craving?

I cannot eat more than a few bites of cake now before I start to feel sick. My indulgence is dark chocolate and I only eat one or two squares before i've reached my limit.

Actually, I don't feel that all. Gimme a room alone with 300g of any kind of chocolate and I can down it before you can say "hot damn!". Smile
My sugar cravings don't seem to be very affected of whether I've weened off it or not. Either they're there or they're not. They primarily come on days when I eat breakfast, days when I am bored or days when I stress. The days when I eat breakfast are BY FAR the worst.
Just reminds me to keep doing IF, keep busy but to take it easy. Very Happy

I took a naked pic of myself... Full length. not hiding from the mirror. When I feel the urge to mini binge on something sweet, I look at the picture. Keeps me going.... and motivates me to go to the gym even if its at 9pm!!

THe Emotioal Freedom Technique tapping and Dr. Paul McKenna's Callahan Method For Emotional Eating do work and for anyone with tendencies towards compulsive and emotional overeating I would recommend them.

I need to add this. Lately, I have been leaning towards going the Paleo route, especially because I have wheat sensitivity. The thought has occurred to me more than once, would I feed something that I am eating to my dog: Chicken breast and broccoli: yes- but a sugary indescretion: NO! If it isn't healthy enough for my dog to eat then why would I eat it?

mummydee: love my dark chocolate...it's a super food, I like ghirradeli 60% cacao in the bag, what's yours?
kingkeld: I didn't know you were IF'ing
Twaddles: I also took a few naked pictures of myself in the full length mirror, and your right, it does work to motivate you. So... long afterwards I needed to empty my memory card, went to Wal-greens and was politely informed by the cute lab technician that she couldn't print some of my pictures because it was against the law (totally forgot they were on there) I told her yeah right! Geeeez, how embarrassed I was when she showed me the pictures that were in question. There I was "BIG JEFF" in the nude trying to smile even.Surprised How motivating is that! Maybe I should try to print some "after" pics just to set the record straight

Jeff, IF makes life SO MUCH EASIER in maintenance mode for me.

1. When I eat breakfast, I tend to think of food and want to eat carbs all day. When I don't, I don't.

2. I have a feeding window of 8 hours per day. I can EASILY fit my two main meals and a couple of snacks in there within my more than generous 2500 calories "weight loss" RDI (3000 when maintaining).

3. I love the way my workouts do in the mornings, while fasting. I can push myself MUCH further.

4. Win! Smile

Just want to add my 2 cents...

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) has made a HUGE difference in my life.

I use it, when I remember to, for everything that is not 100% perfect in my life Smile

Anybody using a dial scale your behind the times. 201.1 looks a lot nicer then 201.9. The digital scale will keep you motivated even in between pounds...Could never live without mine and that goes for the food scale also...

Thanks for the "tapping" video. I had no idea what all it could do. Used it as a means of aligning my chakras and to help with my anxiety and depression. Will get to it today.

Thank you.
