What WOE are you doing? I peeked at your food diary and it confuses me a bit. From you saying you are eating fat bombs I assumed that you were eating LCHF or ketogenic, but your net carbs are really too high for that and your diet is listed as your own. If you can tell us what you are trying to do we can better try to help you. Also, I agree with Spacey in that you need to be consistent and track all food and drinks. That is the only way to ascertain what needs to be changed.

The Truth About Avocados

The Truth About Avocados
@Bookie7....It seems that you are not doing low carb so I will not bother you with how LCHF works or how to calculate net carbs versus carbs. There are, in fact, what are called healthy fats. Those include avocados as well as coconut oil and others. If you are doing low fat and/or low calorie, obviously you will need to limit your consumption according to the macros you have set for yourself. However, there are health benefits to eating them contrary to what some will tell you. **My two cents**

What does net- xxxx Kcal mean?
a calorie is the amount of energy needed to raise 1 gram of water 1 degree celcius. 1000 calories= 1 kcal (kilocalorie)= 1Calorie ( note the capital C) When most people talk about Calories they are using Calories big C even if they type calories little c. What they mean is kilocalories. All food is in Calories. So kcal =Calorie but since this C vs c thing is not well understood and some places just use kcal

Garcina Cambogia...
I posted on Facebook not long ago about how tired I am of Dr. Oz. I'm sorry to anyone who thinks he's great, but IMHO he's no different than a snake oil salesman. I'm not saying that he doesn't know what he's talking about as far as other health issues, but when it comes to weight loss it seems he is taking advantage of people desperate for something that works. I don't watch his show, but every time I log onto Facebook I see a new ad for a weight loss gimmick that Dr. Oz is peddling. It seems to be a new "guaranteed results" "breakthrough weight loss" every time. One week it's cranberry extract, some fruit the next week, and who knows what it will be a month from now. I'm sorry, I don't believe anything he pushes. Again, just my two cents.

What a week of groceries look like.
Thank you for sharing it. It was very interesting to see how families in some other countries feed more people on much less. The American picture shows that most Americans do not eat enough fruits and vegetables and eat too much fast/processed foods. I was a bit shocked at the Mexican picture though. Did you see how many liters of Coke they drink? Granted, the Mexican version is made with real sugar instead of High Fructose Corn Syrup, but still....wow.

weigh everyday
I have always thought it made more sense to weigh every day. It makes it so much easier to pinpoint what you are doing right and what you may have done wrong. If you weigh once a week and you gain 2 pounds, how will you know what you need to change? Was it too many carbs or calories that week? Or could it be just water weight because you ate too much sodium the day before the weigh in? Weighing every day not only keeps me accountable, but makes it easier to see where I need to tweak.

Sweet
Hi Zulu! Since the OP is on Atkins, a tsp of sugar would be a bad idea. Part of the Atkins process is to eliminate sugar and other simple carbs. Having sugar will actually make the cravings come back in full force. Most of us are addicted to sugar and telling a sugar addict who is trying to get away from it, is not unlike telling a heroin addict to just do a little to get over the craving.

Gluten/Wheat free products ??
Look in the recipes on this site. There are a lot of great ones to satisfy that sweet tooth. I love the cheesecake for one. It really hits the spot when I crave cheesecake. In the store you can find russell stover sugar free chocolates. Just be careful how many you eat. Sugar alcohols can stall some people. You can do wonders with a little whipping cream, unsweetened cocoa powder, and splenda. Lol

Feeling Cynical
I agree. You have only really been losing for the last month and you ARE pretty close to your goal weight. Are you drinking plenty of water? Are you exercising at all? Start by making three goals for yourself. Make sure you are drinking enough water. Start getting some kind of exercise every day...even if it is just a few walks around the block. If you are already exercising...add 30 minutes to whatever you are doing now. And lastly, commit to recording every single bite or drink that passes your lips. You may have carb creep and not realize it. As just a side note, I feel that weighing food is a lot more accurate than measuring. I was measuring at first and once I started weighing, I realised that I was eating more than I thought. Keep the faith. You have been doing good so far. If you stay the course, you will reach your goal!

Should I stop Atkins??!!!
If you go to Snopes.com they talk about it. While they list the veracity of the rumor as undetermined, it seems that a lot of it is based on his weight at the time of his death. He was 245 pounds when he died which is considered obese. Critics jumped on that as meaning that the diet caused him to be overweight. However, when he was admitted to the hospital as a result of his fall on the ice, his weight was 195. The added weight was due to fluid retention as a result of organ failure. People who follow the diet correctly usually see their numbers get better rather than worse. I know that my dr is very pleased with my results as my cholesterol, triglycerides, etc are all normal and my blood pressure has come down into normal range since December when I was in hypertension range.

putting in info
There may be another way, but I can tell you what I did. Go to your diet calendar and put in each ingredient individually. Then make it one of your "favorite meals". Give it a name that you will easily be able to pick out. I have mine labeled as "my mim". It works very well that way, especially if you change the recipe a bit. For instance, I make mine with coconut oil instead of butter and vanilla extract instead of cinnamon. Hope this helps!

Net carbs on Calorie Counter by Fatsecret
Mine does not have a more option when I hit the menu button. It just has search, go to today, synch, recently eaten, and most eaten. I have a "more" option on the app menu, but that only has recipes, synch, settings, and themes.

Cheese counting... am I crazy?!
Agreed. I must say that I was a bit shocked when I saw the diet calendar. It read like my 14 year old son's food wish list! LOL Good thing he doesn't come to this website because that was a wishlist that would go unfulfilled!
